Does anyone who uses this plugin have the skills to develop an installer (mpi or similar) for this plugin.

It's a great plugin and consider it essential for MediaPortal until an integrated solution (probablt never) is available. but I'm sure that some people would be put off by the fact they have to cut and paste and do a manual setup etc. Just something to consider to help make MediaPortal more user friendly.

Perhaps even a merge of the Arcsoft plugin too.

    Thoughts?

    +1!

Unfortunately I'm not someone who has those skills (though I do programming I've never touched C# and don't know how plugins and skins work in Mediaportal. I don't have time to learn atm either, desperately trying to graduate university!) but I do think these are very good ideas. (Sorry I went off-topic there).

A merge with the Arcsoft plugin would make good sense, as they're essentially the same thing. An mpi installer would be ideal as this is a very complicated plugin to install and setup, and that would make it more seamless.

On a separate note, does anyone have a mediaportal theme file for PowerDVD9? I use streamedmp but would happliy accept a monochrome-based one so long as it worked with the new PDVD9.

hmm, could you describe more precisely. I have this plugin working on my vista htpc ( see my system) and no problem so far. Maybe because I've switched off that damned UAC (User Account Control).

Have tried this on both a Vista and Vista 64 and works flawlessly. Of course the paths need be changed for the differance between 32 and 64 bit before the HD_Starter.exe is recompiled.

Here is the HD Starter for Power DVD 9 Cinema (starts PDVD9 in Cinema mode) as we found that PDVD9 Cinema mode has its own executable that must be called to start it..

Hey i have installed it but every time i need to start the blu ray player it says that it cant start HD_starter.exe - Dosent this work with XP?

ahh is because i run PowerDVD 8 and the exe file and foder is called PowerDVD8 instead of Powerdvd as it says in the script.

Does anyone have a fix for this?`

I'm assuming you have to have an mce remote for this to work with PowerDVD9 because my ATI x10 doesn't seem to work with it. It opens PowerDVD9 fine, but I have no controls whatsoever. I can't even get MP back on top unless I use a mouse or keyboard. I have a plugin for PowerDVD that works with the remote, but I have to have the ati software running which will cause double clicks, loss of focus, etc. in MP. Anyway, It's a nice little plugin... I just need a way to use my remote with PowerDVD once it opens it.

I found a little remote app the other day when I was searching for a solution to close PDVD. Do a search for "LM Gestion remote". It can map any key on the remote (in my case a MCE receiver with a Harmony) to do what ever you want it to do. There's even a good "manual" for it and I found it very easy to use.

Yes we are using the MCE remote at the moment, Planning on getting a Harmony One or better, and yes everything works fine for us, we can control PDVD9 from the remote "when in cinema mode, not sure on standard mode/skin" and we return to MP from PDVD using the back/exit button (above left of the D pad), we have an imon setup as well and im not sure as if it works at all as we have not tried it with PDVD9 and the imon stuff seems to have lots trouble with MP.
