Can I start by saying that this HD Starter setup is brilliant. Considering that it doesn't run as part of MP and calls up an external player etc, the user interface is very slick and you can barly tell that it isn't part of MP. Well done and thanks!

I do have 1 problem.

I am running it without problem on my own system which uses intelliremote to control MP with my cheap cyberlink remote control and although I am yet to test it with a blueray or HD DVD disc (only own DVDs at the moment so have tried it with them), it seems to work perfectly.

However, I have just finished building my father a new PC which is in a Silverstone LC20 case which has the iMon VFD installed with the iMon pad remote. The problem is, that when I select "Blueray" from the MP menu, PDVD runs without a problem, but as soon as I try to press a remote button (such as play) with cyberlink showing fullscreen on my TV, it seems that MP is getting the signal and it is brought back as full screen over the top of PDVD.

Obviously from that point onwards if I try to select "Blueray" from the MP menu again, I get a multiple instance of HD Starter.exe

Can anyone give me some advice as to how to fix this please.

I have the iMon remote mapped correctly to PDVD so I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

Thanks and keep up the good work.

Win XP SP3
Cyberlink PDVD 7.4
iMon VFD and iMon pad latest software but with the "cleanup 4.2 MP drivers" - https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...y-imon-driver-code-cleanup-please-test-60098/

MP 1.0.2.0

hello robbo100, Make sure that all the imon utilities are not running when windows starts, make sure that the media center program, i forget its name is not running or better yet uninstalled, I have a thermaltake case (has exact same software from imon) and i have the same lc20 silverstone case, each one works perfectly and as a matter of fact the HDD are cloned from one to another, that is how exact the setup is on each of them.

The imon remote i have not used a lot, you are best to pick up a media center remote and probably use that, Remotes are Cheap, like 10 bucks on amazon, and i will tell you now that the 10 bucks on amazon is probably a better than the headache you will get from that imon remote, trust me i have two, I made them work properly as well, but then switched back to the media center remote that came with my avermedia cards. The vfd is noce the rest of the imon stuff is crap including all the software, scrap it and use mediaportal to control it all.

Just a suggestion, trying to save you from hours upon hours of headache.

Steve.

    Thanks Weeji and Steve760

I have just been fiddling with iMon manager and found and option under the iMon utilities section called "Exclusive Mode" which I have taken the tick out of. I believe that this option set the remote to work exclusively with MP only.

I have run a couple of tests and it seems to work perfectly now.

    Thanks for the advice

    Cheers

Total Noob here. Just trying to get up to spped with by brand new htpc running Win7 w/ bd player. I'm migrating over from xbmc, so I get it - just apparantly not all of it...

I can't seem to get the HD Starter going. I followed the directions on page 53. I had some hiccups (administrative priv on dllfix, etc.) but seemed to solve them all...but

Still can't get it up (so to speak). Interestingly, HD Starter works fine outside of MP, but in MP the Play Blu-Ray button shows up, but when I hit it MP returns with a dialogue box:
    Could not start program!
    ConfigSection: [HD Starter]

Only weird thing I can think to point out is I'm running off of the I: drive, not C: - but I changed that in the config settings for HD starter, so it should be calling the right place.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I'm soooo close to loving this...

Am I the only one running Vista 64? For some reason (and by default), my MediaPortal and Cyberlink installs went to the path Program Files(x86)/Team MediaPortal and Program Files (x86)/Cyberlink. There is also a regular Program Files folder but I dont want to move everything over to that one, I don't think it'll work.

At any rate, how do I change the code so that it follows the path with (x86)? I was able to open the AHK file but after editing it I dont know what to do. Any help would be appreciated.

Download and install AutoHotkey: AutoHotkey Download. Once you have it installed you'll be able to compile the AHK script into an executable.

I had the same problem. It seems the Hd-starter DLL doesn't work in MP 1.0.2 so instead I used the Multishortcut plug-in. Download that from the MP downloads section and use that DLL instead and the DLLFix.exe that comes with that. It also comes with some good documentation.

Basically you still use the HD-starter.exe AutoHotkey script but instead of using the HD-starter.dll plug-in you use the Multishortcut plug-in and just rename it HD-starter.dll. Simple!

Sweet! Well after much tinkering I finally got it to work. When hit Bluray in my menu media portal closes (do you guys set it to have MP always on top?) and PowerDVD launches.

Question: Is there a way to get PowerDVD to play the Disc already in the drive automatically after it starts up? I don't see anything in the settings.

    Good stuff!

I have to check my PowerDVD 7 settings when I get home but mine usually automatically plays the disc. Which version are you using? I'm sticking to PowerDVD 7 because I don't want to pay to upgrade to version 8 or 9 since HD-DVD isn't supported.

Hey DaMaster, it looks like I'm running 7. So two things I now want it to do before it's perfect:

    1. If a BluRay disc is already in the drive, and MediaPortal is running, when I hit Play BluRay it opens PowerDVD and hides MP fine. The problem is that I have to hit play for it to start playing, otherwise it will stay on the blue skin screen. It's minor but autoplay is nice.

    2. If there is no disc in the drive, and MediaPortal is running, and I put a BluRay disc in, it launches PowerDVD, but does NOT seem to launch the version of it that I want. This version does not have a blue skin (it's black), and does not respond to any of my keyboard commands. When I play a disc the correct way in #1 above, PowerDVD responds to my keyboard commands and if I hit escape will go back to MP. So my question is, how do I disable the autoplay of this "rogue" version of PowerDVD, and get it to autoplay the HD_Starter exe as if I were to hit the Play BluRay menu item?

    Thanks again for the help.
