The above file should work with XP or vista 32 bit Operating System's, it just would be different for a 64 bit based Operating system as the programs path would have to be (x86) for a 64 based system. So the file above will work for you with XP 32 bit including media center edition.

So use the above and follow the directions in the first post of the thread "Ignore the one file with the extension .ahk in the above archive, it is just the source file, Not Needed, only use the HD_starter.exe file" as I said in the plugin configuration make sure to use the full path to the HD_Starter.exe file also you should make sure to give the button a name in the configuration, as well make sure that the plugin is enabled in media portal plugins config and the button is added to your home screen in your skin.

You shouldnt have any problems.

This is one of the main reasons I was glad to get a second computer so that I could dedicate one as the HTPC. When I had the HDTV on the second monitor, I was using Ultramon to create a shortcut that forcefully moved PowerDVD to the second monitor (HDTV), and maximize it, then had the autohotkey script point to that shortcut.

I ended up doing that myself but instead I am using Arcsoft TMT since that seems to work better for my needs.

Another thing, Ignore the skin files for PowerDVD, you will be using cinema mode and the skins do not work with PowerDVD9 anyways, so just disregard that step.

Do however add the image files to your media portal skin you plan on using, these images are for your home screen and reside next to the button.

PowerDVD9 and PowerDVD9 Cinema install Directions

Downloads at bottom include all parts needed for either PowerDVD9 and PowerDVD9 Cinema mode

This is MoPhat's plugin and all credit should be directed to him, Myself and others have just made edits to keep the Plugin working with updated versions of PowerDVD as well as help with general info and Installation problems some may encounter. Once again Thanks MoPhat for one of the very best additions for Media Portal.

    Follow these steps.

    1. Copy the files HD Starter.dll and HD_Starter.exe and DLLFix.exe in to the MediaPortal plugins\Windows directory. (Should be C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Plugins\Windows)(Path may be different for alternate languages, use your path)

    2. Execute the DLLFix.exe in the plugins\Windows directory\

    3. Copy the MediaPortal Skin Image's in to the desired Skin\Media folder. (This is the skin you use for Media Portal should be C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\skins\Your Skin Name\media) (if you use multiple skins, copy the images to each of the skins you use media folder)

    4. Open the MP Config and choose the HD Starter plugin (its a MultiShortCurt plugin), select the desired icon and the HD_Starter.exe path (as described below)

    5. Enter the needed settings like in the Screenshot below

    6. PDVD Skins Obsolete not needed These are not needed with Cinema Mode of PowerDVD and do not seem to work with PowerDVD9
    7. PDVD Skins Obsolete not needed These are not needed with Cinema Mode of PowerDVD and do not seem to work with PowerDVD9

Here this may help with install, as I see alot of people getting stuck on this part. These are the only parts you need fill in on the below screenshot.

Button Caption = Play Blu-Ray (or whatever you want the button to say, mine says Play Blu-Ray/HD)

Picture = hover_Blu-Ray.png (or the name of any of the other images you placed in the skin/media folder of the skin you are using)

Exefile = C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Plugins\Windows\HD_Starter .exe (this should be your actual path, if media portal is installed in default directory)(Path may be different for alternate languages, use your path)

Remember to Hit the SAVE BUTTON at the bottom of this Config Screen

The Plugin ID and the hide MP option in the below screenshot are automaticly filled in for you, the ID is different on most every install, so dont worry about them.

    C:\Programmi\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Plugins\Windows\HD_Starter .exe
In italian language this is the default directory.
I hope this is not a problem .....

    Thanks for you help.

Im half Italion, just dont speak the language, grandmother does however. Well I would imagine that it should be the path in Itallion as you have it above C:\Programmi\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Plugins\Windows\HD_Starter.exe let me know if it works ok after all steps are done.

Make sure you followed my steps above "exactly" also last night I uploaded complete archives with everything needed to make work with PDVD9.

I have installed this on multiple systems and I have never seen the HD Starter running in the system tray and am not sure why it would, also I have not installed this on xp media center and am going by previous posts. But I do not see why it would function any different on 32 bit XP to 32 bit Vista.

You should be able to exit back to Media Portal using your MCE remote "Back Button" the back arrow on the remote, this should exit and stop PDVD9 and the maximize/resume Media Portal. Make sure that PowerDVD settings are set in a way to work with MP.

I do not run PowerDVD as a service and if I noticed PowerDVD running as a service when I installed it, I would however have disabled it as MP handles everything for me and PDVD9 is just installed to Play BD and HD content, that is how I would recommend for anyone. So make sure you uncheck the box in PDVD9 to run on windows startup.

I will say that this plugin has worked perfectly for me since I first installed it, I had to make a few edits to the HD_Starter.exe to add more ability's like the use of the Browser Back function to use the back button on remote to stop PDVD9 and return to MP. But it works perfectly for me in all aspects, MCE remote works with PDVD9 for all functions needed, and it opens and closes PDVD and returns to MP as wanted.

Like I say use the files I have Uploaded above and nothing more, Delete what you have in your Plugins/windows folder now, Replace with the ones from above, Make sure you run the DLLFIX again once you have replaced with these. Then make sure to go back to the Plugin Config and enter the path to HD_Starter as before, also enter the Picture to be used and the Button Caption, Ignore the other fields and leave them as is (they may be differant than the screenshot, and most certainly they will be).

If it does not work after that then we must read through the entire thread and see if their is someone having or had a simlar issues to yours and see what they did to resolve it, I however have read through this entire thread and do not remember any issues specific to XP Media.
