Sorry, but the plugin don't work fine in my system.
    I followed your steps exactly.

    My problems are:

    1) i launch Mediaportal and the HD_starter from menu, Mediaportal minimize on tray and PDVD9 start in Cinema_Mode. OK! But blu-ray don't start, remote dont' work and i'm not able to play video.
    2) "Back button" don't work. The only ways to resume Mediaportal is to play the GreenButton on the remote. In this way Mediaportal is resumed from system tray but PDVD9 is not stopped, it run again.
I must to use keyboard to kill PDVD9
    3) If i closed Mediaportal too, HD_Starter.exe is always in the system try (see attached image).
    4) When HD-Starter.exe run in the system try, my keyboard don't work fine. If i kill HD_Starter.exe, my keyboard work fine

Can this plugin incompatible with my wireless keyboard? (BTC 9116URF).
Can this plugin incompatible with my remote? (MCE remote IRTrans)

Make sure that PowerDVD settings are set in a way to work with MP
    what mean this?

Make sure that PowerDVD settings are set in a way to work with MP

What was meant by the above is to go through your PowerDVD settings and adjust the most obvious settings, such as not using the auto start with windows and enable the full screen and always on top. Maybe any other settings that seem they may need enabled or disabled. You can use your discretion as nothing is absolutely needed to be changed, just somethings may help.

    1. What version of MP are you running, If not running the latest 1.0.1 I would recommend that you do so, however I would not say that this may fix your problem, as I am not sure why its not working for you.

    2. Also you have a lot of stuff running in the system tray, im not sure what all of it is, one thing is I see Trend Micro Internet security, make sure that the application/firewall settings are not blocking the HD_Starter from working properly.

    3. I have never seen the HD_Starter running as a service like that and I am not sure why it is or if it is supposed to, then again, I am not running XP media either, nor did I write the plugin, I don't see where it would work any different on XP than vista though.

    4. I see you are running the MP standby handler, that plugin caused me all kinds of nightmares and I will just leave it at that.

    5. Have you did any custom mapping for your MCE remote in the MP config? With the later MP versions you should not need any plugins to use your media center remote, if you are running any plugins for the remote or IRtrans now this could be part of the problem, again, i can not be certain what exactly the problem is.

    6. when PowerDVD opens it does not autoplay, this is the expected behavior, you should have to push one of the colored buttons or play button on the MCE remote to resume or play the BD/HD. The HD_Starter would have be modified/recompiled to autoplay the BD/HD.

Remember I did not write the plugin and am only trying to help you get it going, the plugin is great and well worth the time, as I say i had no issues with the setup of it, on multiple Vista machines, not only mine but friends and clients as well.

I would also read back through the posts and see if their are simlar issues, and if they resolved them, if changes are needed to be made to the HD_Starter I can most likely help in recompiling it so it will work, so long as we find another HD_Starter working for a XP media edition and it is different than the one I have.

Ok so reading a bit into the posts of this tread, I found where some are having recompile the autohot keys script for the remote that they have. This is not hard you will just have to follow along with the posts in this thread to figure out how to do it. A lot of information can be found in this area (in the posts before and after) Click Here pay special attention to "ob1's" post, it explains how this all works and he has done a great job of it. You will need AutoHotkeys to edit the .ahk file used and you can get the free program HERE and once you get it you will change the remote mapping towards the bottom of the .ahk file provided in the archive in my previous post. To edit the .ahk file "you will right click on the file and choose Edit Script" when done close and save the changes, then you need compile the file to an .exe file and to do this "you right click on the .ahk file and choose Compile Script".

As I said, use the posts of others to figure out your changes to the mapping for your remote, should be pretty simple, I would try to do this for you, but being I probably do not have the same mapping as for your remote or XP media center, im not sure it would be successful.

I know, I greatly appreciate your help :)
    and always on top
i forgot this, i try to enable it too.

I' m running MP 1.0.0.0 stable (NO SVN). In MP 1.0.1.0. TV2 dont' work fine. I'm waiting 1.0.2.0. that resolve timeshifting problems
    2. Also you have a lot of stuff running in the system tray, im not sure what all of it is, one thing is I see Trend Micro Internet security, make sure that the application/firewall settings are not blocking the HD_Starter from working properly.
yes, HD_Starter has the necessary permits, the firewall don't block it
    4. I see you are running the MP standby handler, that plugin caused me all kinds of nightmares and I will just leave it at that.
I use MP standby handler for resume from standby S3. With it my sat TV card TT S2-3200 work fine (it work fime with PVR-Scheduler too. If necessary i can delete MP standby handler)

any custom mapping and any plugin, i only use IR Trans Server suite (it is necessary). It work very fine in MP.
I only modified the app.cfg file in this way to resolve twice commands problem
    MediaPortal/Configuration/Remote/IRTrans - MediaPortal Manual Documentation
    6. when PowerDVD opens it does not autoplay, this is the expected behavior,
    OK, i like this.

colored button or play button don't work for me.

    Hi
    massimo

Hope you get it figured out, and as far as any of my suggestions, remember I am grasping to figure out your problem, so do not remove something you are accustomed to having if it is something you need and it works fine for you, I hope you get this working as it is a nice option to have in MP, I really think that it has to due with the mapping of your remote, so like I said look into those other posts and see if it seems like the same issues. You may also try disabling some of your other Plugins (temporarily) and see if it starts to work as expected. Another thing I forgot to mention is to disable the Option in MP to be always On Top (if you do not already), as I have it disabled and believe I had to do this for this plugin, this way PowerDVD can take the screen from MP.

I try to use AutoHotkeys on my office PC.
I modified the HD_Starter.ahk to launch BurnAware.exe program, and recompiled it (New Name: BurnAware.exe).
It work fine, but i always the any same problem (in office PC i have not remot control):

    1) when i closed BuerAware programm, the "green H" continues to be active in try system and like windows service (see attached images).
    2) keybord don't work fine (mormal keyboard with USB or PS2 connection). I press "m" and it wrire "p", i press "o" and it write "z", ecc.....
If i kill the "green H" in system try (or i suspend it), keyboard work fine

S/O Win XP Pro sp3 (like in my home HTPC).

This plugin works fine for me but I just need to work out how to do one more little thing before I am completely satisfied.

I don't have a MCE remote but a Streamzap one. I have used EventGhost to set it up they way I like it in MP and Powerdvd 9. The only thing I can't work out is how to assign the "back" button so it closes Powerdvd and re-opens MP. I have a Wireless media keyboard that has a back button on it and it works with the HD_starter plugin perfectly, but I can't work out the keymapping to use for the streamzap.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Edit: I'm so stupid, just worked out that the escape button functions the same as the back button. I just have to map the escape button to one on the streamzap remote. Why couldn't I of found that out 5 minutes earlier???

Anyone try this in Windows 7? I've installed Windows 7 and am VERY pleased not only with the snappiness of the system over Vista, but the resolution over HDMI doesn't switch when the tv is off and the image quality and sound quality are better.

anyway...this plugin is the ONLY thing that I haven't gotten to work in Windows 7.
The first message I was getting was that MP couldn't start the program. "Config Section: HD Starter". After some fiddling I found that selecting "run as administrator" in the file properties resolved this.
Now the problem I'm having is that when I select the bluray player, it hides MP, opens PDVD, but when I hit Play to start the movie, it goes back to MP. However, PDVD is still running in the background as if play had never been pressed. Sitting on top the screen is an Autohotkey window stating that the script is already in existence and do I want to replace that instance with a new one.

Could it be a timing issue of activating the PDVD instance?

    setup:
    Asus P5N7A-VM
    Q6600
    4GB ram
    4x1TB drives
    1x80gb boot drive
    LG Blu-Ray/HD-DVD/DVD combo drive
    iMon remote
    Windows 7 build 7137.
    PDVD9
    MP 1.0.2 using Blue3wide skin

Are you running the version from the main page or one from later on in the thread, as you should be using one posted later on in the thread, if using PDVD9 then use the one I posted just previous, should work fine if you followed directions as we used this on a Win 7 beta install and worked flawless for it, we have not tried it on a Win 7 RC install, but nothing changed in Win 7 beta and RC that would limit this from working differently, as for that there is nothing different in Win 7 and Vista to keep this from working, make sure to check the setup if you have not got this working yet as i see the post was a few days ago.

    ALSO

As i posted a few posts above, I will put it here as well, because this may very well be your problem..

Problem with Imon and HD Starter

Can I start by saying that this HD Starter setup is brilliant. Considering that it doesn't run as part of MP and calls up an external player etc, the user interface is very slick and you can barly tell that it isn't part of MP. Well done and thanks!

    I do have 1 problem.

I am running it without problem on my own system which uses intelliremote to control MP with my cheap cyberlink remote control and although I am yet to test it with a blueray or HD DVD disc (only own DVDs at the moment so have tried it with them), it seems to work perfectly.

However, I have just finished building my father a new PC which is in a Silverstone LC20 case which has the iMon VFD installed with the iMon pad remote. The problem is, that when I select "Blueray" from the MP menu, PDVD runs without a problem, but as soon as I try to press a remote button (such as play) with cyberlink showing fullscreen on my TV, it seems that MP is getting the signal and it is brought back as full screen over the top of PDVD.

Obviously from that point onwards if I try to select "Blueray" from the MP menu again, I get a multiple instance of HD Starter.exe

Can anyone give me some advice as to how to fix this please.

I have the iMon remote mapped correctly to PDVD so I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

Thanks and keep up the good work.

I've had problems from the start with Mediaportal activating itself while another program is running. What I do is change the code in the Autohotkey script to actually close Mediaportal rather than minimizing it, then run it again when "Esc" is hit. It takes a bit longer for Mediaportal to start back up after finishing a Blu-Ray, but who can't wait 1 minute and needs instant access to other Mediaportal features after finishing an entire movie?
