1. If a BluRay disc is already in the drive, and MediaPortal is running, when I hit Play BluRay it opens PowerDVD and hides MP fine. The problem is that I have to hit play for it to start playing, otherwise it will stay on the blue skin screen. It's minor but autoplay is nice.
Now that I think about it, I do have to press Play. Not sure if there's any way around that in PowerDVD.

2. If there is no disc in the drive, and MediaPortal is running, and I put a BluRay disc in, it launches PowerDVD, but does NOT seem to launch the version of it that I want. This version does not have a blue skin (it's black), and does not respond to any of my keyboard commands. When I play a disc the correct way in #1 above, PowerDVD responds to my keyboard commands and if I hit escape will go back to MP. So my question is, how do I disable the autoplay of this "rogue" version of PowerDVD, and get it to autoplay the HD_Starter exe as if I were to hit the Play BluRay menu item?
Sounds like your Windows Autoplay is kicking in. In Vista: go to Control Panel -> Autoplay. I disabled all of my Autoplay options. Now when you enter a Bluray nothing will happen until you press "Watch Bluray" in MP.

Hi all,

yesterday I set up my new HTPC with Blu-Ray support and ran into several issues. One issue concerns BR. PowerDVD9 refuses to play back BR whilst my HTPC is in clone-mode (OrigenAE with 12" Touchscreen connected via VGA as secondary display, Samsung LE 37 M86BD connected via HDMI as primary display). So I have to change to DualView (nVidia 9400 onboard). But this turnaround will not increase WAF. So my question is, whether it is possible to change modes from clone to dual vs. with mophat's script. Does anybody know linecommands for this issue?

Some time ago I found a script for AuoHotkey called Moniswitch. I basically just used the Desktop Kontext Menü to switch between two installed Monitors.
Maybe you can try something like that for the clone mode.

Commandline would of course be best but I gave it up because this wasn't implanted in the driver.

    Thanks for your reply Arkard,

yesterday I found a pdf-file for nVidia-api. Nvidia provides an API with which you can do all the things via line-command. I wrote two batch-files which I will implement into hd_starter as far as I got AutoHotKey (no time today, got a lot of boring work at home :) The batches work like I expected them to do :)

    Batch-files are attached

This document applies to NVCPL.DLL APIs for NVIDIA Forceware graphics
drivers for Windows® 95, Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT 4.0,
    Windows 2000 and Windows XP
Annoying for people with your configuartion and Vist.

I personal have luckily no problem because my HTPC with MP uses only one monitor and no bluray.
For bluray I have to use my Laptop and then it's no problem to press a ew buttons for the monitor setings.

    @ MoPhat:

i have installed your plugin yesterday. many Thanks to you, it works like a charm.
the only problem i see is that it seems to me you are using an outdated version of the multishortcut plugin for your plugin.
as i need multishortct to integrate firefox in mediaportal i ruined the installation of your plugin by installing the newer version of multishortcut.
could you have a look into this problem and confirm or tell me about a workaround...
    thanks

havent looked deeper into that problem yet but as i had installed the newer multishortcut version, it broke the hd_starter setup in mp-plugin configuration. a second thing is that the newer multishortcut version has more options in configuration which i didnt see in the preinstalled hd_starter plugin.
and- sure- i did a re-dllfix on both plugins. ...

    did i miss something?
