sounds good. When you have time you can do it. I'm a little short of time. So it is improbable that I can manage it within the next weeks

new HD_Starter-Release with semi/fix-variable path to HD_Starter.ini as madmat17 has suggested. It also contains a new version of GUIHDStarter. Now it is possible to print HDStarter.ini and/or load it via show-dialog. This release replaces all versions since post #585 on page 59

Am I the only one who has an issue with the jar file not executing? It just opens up in my 7-zip program. If I remove the association from 7-zip, I get a dialog asking me to choose a program to open it with. If I change teh extension to .exe I get a command prompt that opens, but nothing more.

Java-Runtime must be installed. You can download it from http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
Chose JRE 6 Update 18 for download, select your platform (Windows or Windows64), check "I agree to ..." press continue and select one of the given installation-methods. Download and/or installation should begin automatically.

Which file did you download? Post #714 provides the jar-file which must only be renamed.
You mustn't unzip the HDStarterGUI.jar.zip. Just remove the extension .zip.

Post #718 provides an archive with all necessary files which are used by the plugin including the GUI. This archive must be unpacked and installed as it is described in the initial post of moPhat. The GUI-file mustn't be renamed.

I hope now it works for you

hey guys, ive setup this hd-player now and it works great.
but can someone tell me how i can close powerdvd with the MCE remote?
i cant find that and it would be great, because ive no more mouse/keyboard on my htpc.

im using powerdvd8 ultra

I had problems with this as well. I'm using eagles latest HD_Starter w/GUI

I added the following lines to the HD_Starter.ahk directly before the "; switch audio streams" and recompiled the script.

Browser_Back::
IfWinExist, CyberLink PowerDVD
{

WinClose, CyberLink PowerDVD
}
return

I derived this from post #84. Unfortunately the .ahk was not provided as well. But it was easily decompiled with EXE2AHK.exe.

This solution seems so simple I fear I'm doing something wrong. But it works! I have the back button mapped to EXIT on my Harmony 880 so it seems seemless.

There is probably additional error handling that could be done but I'm not interested in that until the WAF goes down.

Using MediaPortal 1.0.2 & PowerDVD Ultra 9 so YMMV with PowerDVD Ultra 8 but I expect it to be the same.

Hope this helps.

    @dkun

    I run MP 1.0.2 on xp sp 3 with HDStarter from Post 585 and it works like a charm. I havn't tested it yet with 1.1.0 beta

    eagle

    Has anyone tried this with 1.1beta +SVNs on W7? - This is what I'm going to try - let me know if you know of any show-stoppers

    Eagle - Is there a reson for not putting the "most recent" code on the first page. It would make life a lot easier for people just starting out with the solution. Is your current working solution "everything on the forst post" plus the HDStarter from 585 plus PDVD9?

    Many Thanks

    I've got no permission to edit post #1 because it' s moPhat's post. Maybe a mod can change the first post or moPhat himself if he is still activ (good chance. His last activty was 2010-01-20 08:06 :)). My current working solution contains all necessary files to run HD_Starter except HDStarter.dll. Graphics used in PDVD and MP are not included.
