Blu-Ray / HD DVD plugin for Arcsoft player (1 Viewer)

Hey guys,
Great plugin, I'm now using it instead of HD_starter which would make PowerDVD run slow sometimes (I think it was mostly because multishortcutter wasn't closing mediaportal properly)

I've spent a good day though trying to figure out how to exit powerdvd (or any other bluray player actually) with the MCE remote.

What I ended up doing was using Auto Hot Key file which had been written by the HD_starter team : all credits go to them.

The file is attached. All you need to do is edit the ini with notepad or such so that it goes to the path and executable of your BluRay software. Then, instead of pointing the "Blu-Ray / HD DVD plugin for Arcsoft player" plugin directly at you BluRay player executable, point it at the PWDVD_Starter.exe .

What this does is that it launches your BluRay player, and wait for a escape command (Clear button on the MCE remote) to close PowerDVD. If you want to use it with something else than powerdvd, you need to edit the ahk file where it looks for teh running process to close, and then recompile it with autohotkey compiler.

Is arcsoft actually bringing you back to MCE ? Or is it just the arcsoft mce player window that you're seeing ?

WIth arcsoft I would press the windows home button on the mwe remote (green flag button) and it would close TMT5 and bring me back to MP

I also have a question for you guys.

I would like to use this plugin to be called as an external player in moving pictures. to do this, I would need to have either moving pictures capable of calling this plugin, or an executable file that runs this plugin independently of MP.

Thus, by dactivating the change refresh rate in the moving pictures external application caller i would have :
- the arcsoft player plugin change to adequyate refresh rate
- the remote control app exit
- the change back to default mediaportal refresh rate
- it would make everything much more built in !

Is any of this possible ? I was trying to find a plugin launcher script to launch mediaportal plugins as exe but couldn't find one

Just wanted to inform you that the latest beta of Arcsoft TMT 5 (5.1.1.110) can change the Display Refresh Rate on it's own for 24p content.

Use the attached one.
I still haven't found the time to complete it, but everything except the DVD autoplay option should work, so i disabled it.

Includes some bugfixes and enhancements.
You are able to select DVDs if you start the plugin through the menu.
Besides that you are able to specify driveletters which are excluded from autoplay.
Just enter the driveletters seperated by a comma like: "e,f" if you want to exclude drive "E:" and "F:" from autoplay.
Plugin is only for MP 1.2.0 beta and higher.


The TMT5 refresh rate change feature works fine btw.
Refresh rate is changed to 24/25/30 hz on my system depending on the source.
For HD-DVDs it dosn't work properly, the refresh rate always gets changed to 60hz instead of 24hz.
And 23hz (23.976hz) support isn't included, too.

For installation of the attached .dll:

1. unpack it
2. copy it to to your plugins\Windows-Folder (for Win7/Vista it should be something like: C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\plugins\Windows).
3. configure it through mediaportal configuration -> plugins -> window plugins -> "blu-ray player launcher"

depends on the path you installed it.
for me (Win7) TMT5 is installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcSoft\TotalMedia Theatre 5\

executable is: uMCEPlayer5.exe (the MCE executable, which GUI "integrates" better than the standard version).
but you can use the uTotalMediaTheatre5.exe too if you want.

Would be great if this plugin could launch PowerDVD11 in fullscreen mode and tell it to autostart the BD disc and then when the film is finished, press the backup button on the mce remote to close PowerDVD11 and return back to mepo and regain the focus.

Is this possible?

Hi MacGyver2k, thanks for working on the plug-in still. Like the way its evolving. Got a few issues with the last version you posted though...

1) autoplay dialgue doesn't seem to work (no dialogue shows)
2) I'm using it to launch cineplayer, however, when using the plugin it freezes cineplayer on launch! if I launch cineplayer from windows it works no problem!?!
3) any chance of adding an option for launching a custom player with arguments? cineplayer autoplays a disc just by running this:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Roxio\CinePlayer\5.0\CinePlayer.exe" E:\

4) does the switch to 23.967 option actually switch to 23.976, or to whjat you have 23.976 set to in mediaportals config? my TV only supports 59.94i so I need to switch to 59hz if it cant detect the frame rate in the largest .m2ts.

It doesn't actually work for me at the moment but with some minro changes im sure it would.
