Yes kiwijunglist, certainly am... I'm using the donator version 8.23 or something, but all the settings worked great when I was using Freeview Sat as well..

Do you use pre-saved/existing logo files or do you just let it detect the logo everytime?

Regarding DXVA, i noticed FFDShow added a DXVA filter.

Very interested in ComSkip for H264, i have access to the donators version but the program crashes whenever it hits a glitch in the stream, plus i had no idea to actually cut the TS file after scanning it. Then again i havent used it in months. I could never get it to spit out a proper logo.

Lastly, upgraded my rig with a new CPU+Mobo, this one has integrated HD4200 graphics. I have an 8500GT. I'm tempted to test the ATI one, to see if i can acheive 50hz @ 1366x768 (maybe my TV doesnt support it), because currently i have to switch to 720p non native to get 50hz.

No I don't think i have support for hardware acceleration. I have a ATI Radeon 4800.

Hum, I've tried with the h264 decoder from power dvd8, but I still can't get mediaportal to play live TV, MP just freezes when I press the TV on button.

I know the hardware is capable of playing it, I've had it working on a previous install of windows, just can't remember exactly how it was set up

Would you be able to put up a screen shot like mine, just so i can see exactly what decoders you are using for everything to make it work? That'd be really helpful

HD4800 is easily enough to do DXVA and it has support for it. Ensure you have the latest 10.1 drivers and select the cyberlink h264 codec.

Re: Reencode TV recordings

I can't seem to find a solution after many hours of searching. I want to (h.264) reencode some HD freeview recordings to a smaller size but retain reasonable quality for archiving. I've been able to do this for TV3 programmes using Handbrake, because it has an AC3 audio track, but for all other NZ freeview channels with only an AAC+ audio track, Handbrake crashes. I've tried MeGui as well with no luck.

Anyone know if there is anything available?

for tv1+2 i use h264cutter to cut the ads, dgavcindex to demux and winamp to encode the audio, and megui to compress the video and mux the new audio stream to it.

been using that combination on tvnz dvb-t for years and still havnt (although havnt looked in a year or so) found a more reliable way to do it.

edit: just loaded a clip from TV1 into 'WinX Video Converter Platnium' and it seems to work fine with aac audio - might work for you too... this is a 7 second avi from using mostly the default settings http://beeras.com/1-TVONE-Clip0.avi

while im at it... this is our not so secret anymore avisynth profile, for use with megui or whatever - obviously need the dlls that come with autogk for it to work, and you need to deal with the audio separately. can probably be adjusted/tweaked for better output now - anyone have suggestions?

Evening all.....

In prep for the MP social get together in Auckland this weekend I'm trying to get my Acer ION net top working sweetly......

However it's not going to well..... I bought a Hauppauge NOVA-T USB stick tuner to see if I could use the little thing as a stand alone MP server and client. Works great for watching live TV, but when I tried to record something it shows it recording for about 15 seconds and then stops..... I found this in the log file...

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

You will have to forgive my ignorance with this post as Im little out of the loop. My HTPC has been running like a dream for as long as I can remember but has just started playing up

Im having two problems but Im not sure when they started and whether they are related to me installing coreavc 2.0. Ive had no trouble up until now but I can no longer via TV3, as it will not create a graph. Ive tried iewing in windowed mode with graphedit but nothing. It actually happens with all the mediaworks channels and I cant preview them in the TV-server config either.

The other problem is when I try to watch some hd content but I get no sound. Video is fine but although I have it set for coreavc the graph says its using ffdshow. The same video plays perfectly fine in media player with the ffdshow icon in the tray.

Ive set coreavc to be my preferred codec, its coreavc in MP config for both video and audio but after having it work for so long Ive lost the knack of working out what the problem is !

Any ideas on what I can try ?
