Hi,

You raise a dam good point about support around the upgraded version of MP - there was a warning that came up from memory, however other users mentioned they had no issues, so I pushed forward to MP 1.1.2.0 as 1.1.1.0 had a memory leak problem which was when my freezing started - thought the memory leak might have been causing the freezing.

Thanks for mentioning that setting in 4TR - will take a look :)

I also did a defrag on my data disk last night which was still going this morning, so I have left it running. It's a 1.5TB mirrored disk and I have not done a defrag in 9 months, so a bit overdue - will see how that goes. I have also noticed that a "disk cleanup" on my operating disk sometimes helps things as well.

Thanks again for the response.

Regards

Graham

You're not running "green" 5400rpm hard drives are you? Just another thought...

Unsure if they are green or black (will check tonight) but what I can tell you is that I had 2 x Seagate 1 TB drives setup as RAID 0 and they died one at a time and were replaced with Western Digital (as per my spec) 1.5TB drives mirrored which included replacing the 500GB operating system drive with Western Digital as well under warranty and have been working fine ever since (about 1 1/2 years now) I also turned off "Superfetch" in Vista which caused a heap of disk activity with no impact on performance.

UPDATE: I have Western Digital Caviar Green 1.5TB SATA 3 Gb/s 7200RPM 32MB Cache HDD

UPDATE: I was also thinking that I installed MP 1.1.2.0 without uninstalling 4TR first and ran into the issue that 4TR Plugin did not appear in TV Server Config. I then uninstalled and re-installed it - I'm wondering whether this might have caused the issue i.e. I should have un-installed 4TR before ungrading to MP 1.1.2.0.

I don't use FTR, although I have tried it out a couple of times. As I recall there is a setting in FTR that allows you to prefer timeshifting files rather than streaming. I would try turning that on (sorry I can't give specific instructions).

I could not see any setting in 4TR for this including in the MP plugin??

It is definitely in the MP or TV Server configuration, not in FTR dedicated configuration.
As I recall it is somewhere on the first tab in the same place where you configure the mappings between FTR channels and MP channels. This might be the configuration for the FTR TV plugin (which would be in MP plugin configuration). Further than that I just can't remember...

Right, so it is a green drive. Don't trust the RPM spec. I haven't had a chance to look at the other thread yet but I'll get to that in the next half an hour or so...

Strictly speaking, it probably would have been best. Practically speaking, I'm just not sure.

Hi, my wife is glued to the TV watching The Mentalist from last night, so I can not get near the PC (for the moment)

I looked in the manual and cannot see any settings as you describe? Any chance you could quickly hunt for it - link is here:

    It won't be in there.
We're talking about a FTR TV plugin setting that is located in the MP configuration.
I've had a look in the FTR installation guide. There is a screenshot of the place I think it is on page 28 (2nd screenshot). The screenshot doesn't show the setting, but I'm pretty sure it is there. This would only be for a singleseat setup though...

Ah, sorry - the MP Config - I see it now under Plugins --> 4TR --> Config --> Use ts file in stead of RSTP for Live TV (if possible) tickbox.

UPDATE: I still have the same error of Live TV Stopping??

UPDATE2: logged the issue with 4TR in this forum

    http://www.4therecord.eu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1627&p=12386#p12386

and was directed to this forum with a registry hack fix

    http://www.4therecord.eu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=1554

I don't usually muck around with registries - is it OK 2 do this?
