    Hi again

Yup, that's what I need. If you have a 10750 MHz LNB then you should rescan the channels using the "NA Bandstacked DP Ku-Lo..." band setting. Otherwise, if you have an 11300 MHz LNB then set up the LNB override frequencies under the Nova S Plus advanced tuning options (in the scanning section) as [11300, 11300, 12750] and restart the TV service. If that doesn't work then try changing the "preferred network provider" from "generic" to "DVBS" for the Nova S Plus. You do that in the tuner properties.

    1. Open TV Server configuration.
    2. Expand the "TV Servers" node.
    3. Select your TV Server (mp01???) in the left hand side tree.
    4. Select the Nova S Plus tuner.
    5. Click "edit".
    6. Change the preferred network provider setting as suggested.
    7. TV Server will restart automatically when you close configuration or move to another section.
    8. Try tuning again.

that was the one for me... when I initially loaded up my XP system (far too many beers ago) I remember having issues and I took screen shots of how it should be set, but the interface has changed somewhat since then. muchos appreciated the help there:D

man, this win7 instance has been messing me up. firstly, I've been getting issues with the power plan. despite changing 'balanced' to never go to sleep mode it has been.. in the middle of a programme.. so then I created my own plan, but it kept revering to the 'balanced' one after a system restart. I think I may have sorted that bit by saving my display 'theme' after making the power theme change.. we'll see... but now I'm getting issues with the system switching between cards (I think). going between different mux I get the "unable to play:liveX-0.ts.buffer" error.
I have 2X nova-s cards and they've both scanned and found the FV channels, and the channels are all associated with them.
one card is set to view optusD1 primay and D2 secondary, and vice versa on the other.
log attached in case anyone has some clues.. never was such an issue on XP, it just swapped between cards (or so I thought).

[edit] spoke too soon.. still turning the screen off >.<

okay.. I think I've sorted the sleep issue.
win7 home prem does not have RDP available natively and I've been configuring this remotely. I had installed TightVNC to that end, and each time I connected to the server it created a new theme (it didn't seem to like the aeor one I was using). I got round the no RDP issue with this bit of software and it seems to work fine so far... just posting in case someone else runs into the no RDP issue.[/edit]

"Unable to play..." errors are client side errors, so the client logs are needed as well as the TV logs. It would be best if you could use the watchdog (-->info<--) to grab logs. It is *by far* the easiest way to get us complete information...

okay.. took a while for it to happen again. attached the log

BTW. think the sleep issue was actually an nividia(mobo) app setting which I've amended.. seems fixed ... just like it seemed fixed half a dozen other times

these logs are without the watchdog service running.. I tried it with watchdog running, but there's no crash, just the error in MP so no option to save a crash file anywhere.. hoping that having it clear the logs first is all you were after.

    Hi rocklander

To me it looks like you haven't set your TV codec preferences in MP configuration. If you use the watchdog to gather your existing logs (option 3) then I'll get to see your MP preferences and confirm whether that is the case. I'll also be able to recommend you some codecs based on what you've currently got installed in your system.

Yep, it is as I figured - no codecs set. Codecs are a *really* important part of setup. You basically can't do anything without configuring them...

At the moment you don't have too many codecs installed, so I'd recommend the exact setup that you see -->here<-- for both video and TV codecs. Note that the Microsoft audio codec doesn't actually support AC3/DD or E-AC3/DD+ outside of Microsoft software, so I'd recommend that you install FFDShow (or maybe the SAF pack) at some point and use the FFDShow Audio Decoder for MPEG/AC3 and DD+.

If you still have problems after making those changes then let me know.
