Between forum search and just knowing that if i want local data this is the place to go, I personally see no reason to close the thread, it was useful to me when i started out back in 07 and it was an old big oversized thread back then.

recent data is near the end, and older stuff like the weather links and tv icons is easy to find with search tools.

p.s. no surprise it's an aussie asking for the thread to be closed :p

:D but to be fair they're not all like that especially here on the MP forum but there are "winners" wherever you go... Why are why even bothering to reply to this guy? Don't like this thread? Then why read it?!

(I think my earlier post on this was removed by those in higher places unless I somehow managed to forget how to use this forum...)

The big issue with such a long thread is it becomes impossible to search and find info on particular issues. Maybe it would be worth approaching the forum admins about setting up region specific sub-forums.

Looking at the last few pages I do not see any removed posts.

Hmmm, my opinion is just the opposite - using the "search this thread" tool is much more reliable for me than searching the entire forums... and then even if you can't find what you want you always know where to ask! :)
Anyhow, I'm not seeking to start a debate about it. There are some language-specific forum sections, but I think the mods have been reluctant to go all-out with country-specific sections, reason being that the forum structure is already a little complex. You find your way around eventually, but I remember very distinctly having difficulty deciding where threads should go when I first joined the community...

Good point - maybe I had a problem with my wireless connection or something when I hit "post" Oh well, no big deal, I was basically telling the guy to use the "Search this thread" button (or just bugger off..)

+1 to all of that. We still have the option of the NZ section in the Wiki too but I tend to have more "faith" that the info I get on this thread will be more up to date - we're lucky to have so many clued up people who contribute to it :D
