Ahh, so that's how to get the DVB-EPG! Cheers for that.

The DVB-C channels on the TC network are encrypted sadly, similar to Sky's.
Requires a decryption card.

Would be interesting to see if you could get a DVB-C card with a decoder card slot and see if that worked.
If it did, you could just rent two decoders from TC, get 2 cards and bingo!

What sort or encryption? On my site check out the DVB-S card with the CAM (Technotrend 1500S) I'd say you'd just need the right CAM module chuck in your SIM card, AND if the CAM supports it then you'll be able decrypt (record/watch) multiple channels at once (my cam supports it) BUT if it is the same encryption as Sky (NDS Videoguard) then you're out of luck since there are no CAMs available for NDS :-( Otherwise we'd all be using Sky direct via DVB-S rather than via s-video :-(

That I don't know - friend in TC would only tell me that it was indeed encrypted.
Any further detail was not forthcoming.

Hours of searching and investigation was no use either.

Gave up and went the safe route and just got a DVB-S card.

I'm in Auckland so don't get Telstra cable but personally I'd pursue this method (if you don't mind spending the $$) since it's so much better to get the MPEG stream straight off the wire. Otherwise you have so many digital/analog conversions. +being able to record/watch multiple channels on the same card is pretty handy.

Has anyone out there got a Sky Dual LNB connected to a DVB-S card under TV Server? I'm wanting to find out if switching between LNBs (Optus D1 and Optus C1) is possible using TV Server, anyone willing to try a couple of experiments for me?

I haven't got one set up but I have a new one in its original box. If I recall correctly from the instruction in the box for Sky TV installers, you switch from one lnb to the other with 22kHz. I think 22kHz is for Optus C1. The switch is inside the dual lnb housing. I presume both lnb's are dual polarity so currently you need horizontal on D1 and vertical on C1.

Yeah that all sound correct to me, wondering though how it will work in TV Server. Just so I can update my TV Server info page. (Which I will eventually port to the wiki! )

I have a Dual LNB but haven't gone for TV Server yet.
I'm stuck for spare time at home at the moment, so haven't gone through the process of swapping over.

Is there even anything worth tuning into on C1?
