While I like the current setup for recording better, I do like the option to shutdown after recording is finished.

Ok, but i don't have any possibility to set exactly time for recording.

Shutdown after recording is very important for me, actually i use my old vcr for recording. I don't want my htpc stays on every night for all time.

Use the PowerScheduler plugin (which is installed by default) to shutdown, suspend or hibernate after a recording and to wake from hibernation or from suspend when it's recording time.

I dont think its flexible enough to do this yet. I dont want it to shutdown after every recording, just those I choose. Basically unless I tell it to, I dont want it to suspend either.

Of course I agree with you with all you mentionned, but I was just helping Sebtm because of what he said :

Thats why I thought the above was such a good idea. So much flexibility with just 1 box.

Just do not leave idle in home screen and hey presto no shutdown.(I know you know, but other people reading this might not)
Belive the ability of starting/shutting down of htpc for recording purposes, is one of the most important features of MP or any other equivalent software. The power scheduler plugin really needs to be incorporated into MP's core program and assessible from MP settings or as a option for recording, with maybe a sleeptimer incorporated as well.

I have tried PowerScheduler; when it is in idle, it shutdowns htpc ... but before MP starts recording....
