I finally run extensive testing. Now I have no doubt that the so-called MTD implementation in CineS2 does not work for my Astoncrypt card (firmware 2.26).

System is running Win 7 32bits. DVB-S card is Digital Device CineS2 v6 PCIe. Drivers are last 2.3.0.47. Here are the various case scenarii:

1- Testing dual tuner working and MTD
Card configration: CAM assigned to both tuner using Cineconfig.
Tvserver settings: CAM limit =1 to each tuner. CAM model is default. No EPG grabbing. No card preload. Tunig using STop card. Generic Network provider
Results: Could record 2 FTA at a time. But could not descrambled single scrambled channel

2- Testing MTD with 1 tuner disabled in TVServer
Card configration: CAM assigned to both tuner using Cineconfig.
Tvserver settings: CAM limit =1 to each tuner 1. Tuner 2 is disabled. CAM model is default. No EPG grabbing. No card preload. Tunig using STop card. Generic Network provider
Results: Could play 1 FTA. But could not descrambled single scrambled channel

3- testing STD mode on tuner 1
Card configration: CAM assigned to tuner 1 using Cineconfig.
Tvserver settings: CAM limit =1 to tuner 1. Tuner 2 is still disabled. CAM model is default. No EPG grabbing. No card preload. Tunig using STop card. Generic Network provider
Results: Could play clear single crypted channel

4- testing CAM assignment in TVServer
Card configration: CAM assigned to tuner 1 using Cineconfig.
Tvserver settings: Tuner 1 is disabled. Tuner 2 is enabled. Limit CAM = 1. CAM model is default. No EPG grabbing. No card preload. Tunig using STop card. Generic Network provider
Results: Could play 1 FTA. But could not descrambled single scrambled channel

5- testing STD mode on tuner 2
Card configration: CAM assigned to tuner 2 using Cineconfig.
Tvserver settings: Tuner 1 is disabled. Tuner 2 is enabled. Limit CAM = 1. CAM model is default. No EPG grabbing. No card preload. Tunig using STop card. Generic Network provider

Results: Could play clear single crypted channel

    Hi again DjeC64

Your testing seems to be very thorough and complete. I'm only sorry that the outcome is not positive for you. From my perspective these logs make it clear that the issue is with the DD drivers and their compatibility with your CAM. I note that it looks like the CAM is trying to send you a message through a CI menu dialog when the channels cannot be decrypted in the first test. What does the message say?

I agree with mm that the tests you made seem very extensive (even though I don't understand the fourth), It could be great to compare the logs with the ones of Romijn, maybe this could help to determine if it is an issue related to the combination of drivers + hw version.

    Hope you have luck

    Hi again

This is what I see in the logs:

    2011-12-12 23:15:21.605066 [(7)]: card: WaitForTimeShiftFile - waiting _eventAudio & _eventVideo

    2011-12-12 23:15:24.997260 [Digital Devices CiMenuHandler(27)]: Menu received (ID 3 Type 0 Choices 0)

    2011-12-12 23:15:25.008260 [Digital Devices CiMenuHandler(27)]: Unknown MMI Type 0

    2011-12-12 23:15:25.132267 [Digital Devices CiMenuHandler(21)]: Menu received (ID 3 Type 0 Choices 0)

    2011-12-12 23:15:25.143268 [Digital Devices CiMenuHandler(21)]: Unknown MMI Type 0

    2011-12-12 23:15:26.019318 [Digital Devices CiMenuHandler(27)]: Menu received (ID 4 Type 1 Choices 1)

    2011-12-12 23:15:26.157326 [Digital Devices CiMenuHandler(21)]: Menu received (ID 4 Type 1 Choices 1)

2011-12-12 23:15:34.103781 [(4)]: Not the time to fetch remote file yet

2011-12-12 23:15:36.609924 [(7)]: card: WaitForTimeShiftFile - no audio was found after 15,0048583 seconds

Note that this occurs when you are waiting to see the decrypted picture. Perhaps I can supply a debug DLL so that the message can be logged and we can see what the CAM is trying to tell you.

Would be glad to have a debug dll. At least I may have more information to send to DD or Aston.

    Thanks.

I am wondering if you were able to solve this issue, do you?

    Hi Lulsam,

It works for me without any problems at the moment. I can view, record, schedule recordings etc with two clients at the same time with two scrambled channels. With the Cine S2 and CI and AstonCam and canaldigitaal card.

The only thing with I have some problems with is the update with is send by the provider, in my case canaldigitaal, is not been applied. So I have to remove the card, reactivate the card and put it in a "regular" satreceiver. after it has received the update it works fine again.
