...and did you installed SAF4.00 beta as last one?

I couldn't get this great plugin to work either...

Tried a bunch of solutions, but wat worked for me was UNINSTALLING NERO BURNING ROM!!!
Also solved a few minor problems with some files not playing!

Grrr I can't get this great plugin to work either...

It worked a few days ago when I had just the MPC-HC standalone filter and ffdshow installed. At this time there was no FLV-splitter in showing up in the OV-config, but still most videos like youtube worked like a charm.

Now I cleaned up all my codecs etc from my system and installed SAF 4.00RC1 from scratch (unlocked version). Included QTlite, RPLite and Haali offcourse. I've set everything according to the SAF topic.
Now if I want to play any video in OV the "loading-ring" of Blue3wide skin will stall and MP becomes unresponsive...

Tried reinstalling OV but no luck. Any idea?

did you install SAF as last one?

I just have to say, not to be rude or anything - but these are the worst *** instructions for installation of a plugin I've ever read.
Uninstall all previously installed codecs, install splitter, install SAF - then install a bunch of individual codecs manually because we aren't allowed to include them with the installation.

Oh by the way, how about posting a straight forward *** link to the codec files needed to install IN THE FIRST POST IN THE THREAD.

I found what was needed but it was an absolute *** pain in the ass, googling for the stupid .ax file. I didn't feel like searching through posts and posts when it SHOULD be right there and installed with the package, otherwise what's the point of even releasing this plugin?

    "User-friendly" comes to mind.

I'm not a moron, just a tech nerd who can't believe how stupid this damn process is.

Hopefully someone will read this and clean this up the install process -because currently it is confusing and horrible.

And I forgot to say, most retarded of all - do not tell people to uninstall existing installed codec packs if they already have the files they need installed - especially if you aren't going to include those same files in the installation.

I followed the directions against what my common sense and experience told me and uninstalled k-lite... in doing so i got rid of pretty much every codec required for this plugin to work. I then had to frustratingly look for what was already installed but removed because the directions are too poorly written.

Just saying - someone needs to redo this.

Thank you for letting me vent my frustration.

Codec Setup and the installation of this Plugin are two things. I'd say installing an mpi is as easy as it gets.
The Codec setup here is just a suggestion. If you think you are smart enough to get you codecs straight then do so on your own! For anyone else, using SAF is actually pretty easy. AND YES, it is those codec packs that will screw up the filter merits and prevent anything from playing. It's not the plugins fault, it's just how DirectShow was designed. I know that it is a pain in the ass, and probably everyone else thinks that, too. As this is an open source project you are welcome to creat eyour own codec installer and fix the world.

I managed to get mp4 audio and shit working, here is what I did:

    1. Uninstalled all my codex etc. The only thing I keept was Windows Media Player

    2. Then I restarted the PC

    3. Download and install: CCCP - Combined Community Codec Pack

    4. Download and install the newest VideoLan (VLC)

    5. Restart just in case.

    6. Profit! :D

Hope it works out for you guys!

    Hi Hoborg

Same problem here. SAF 4RC1, installed flash player, still no luck getting youtube to play in OnlineVideos. Working fine in all other respects, just OnlineVideos not working.

Make sure you are using MPC video decoder for h.264 (not Cyberlink!)

i found a way for me to keep cyberlink as h264 codec for video (good picture quality) AND to watch youtube: i just set the quality from high to normal (first page of plugin config)...

Doing so will not use Cyberlink anyway, because the video is then flv and lower quality.
