i found a way for me to keep cyberlink as h264 codec for video (good picture quality) AND to watch youtube: i just set the quality from high to normal (first page of plugin config)...

    :Thanks worked for me :)

Been using Mediaportal for quite a while now, and did not know about SAF. So, I recently set up a new HTPC using the Mediaportal Codec Guide that I've always used. It is found here. Quite a bit of the online video stuff still did not play so my solutions were:

For the MP4/MOV stuff (like Ted Talks, NASA, etc), I installed the Quicktime Directshow Filter here and now everything those feeds are playing fine. I also installed QT lite (you can find a link to it in the codec guide above).

Some of the flash stuff was working (Youtube) and some was not (CNN, MSNBC). The solution I found was to install the FLVSplitter from Celtic here. The FLVspitter that I had before did not show a video output pin in the graph (using GraphStudio). The linked one does. I dunno, but it works.

So, I have most things from Onlinevideos playing now. Hope the above might help others.

I can't get these damn videos working no matter what I do. The same exact thing I did last time to get this crap working isn't working this time. I have tried every suggestion in this thread and spent days trying to get it to work and I only get more and more angry when I see the "Audio Codec:" bs. If there is a pro out there that can help me through chat + logmein, please let me know.

That was the first thing I tried. I followed all of the instructions in the first post. The next thing I tried was the codec manual on the mediaportal main website. The next thing I tried was various codec packs. The next thing I tried was every suggestion I could find in this thread.

If you have SAF, no codec is missing, believe me :)
