Right - I activated comskip in the TV Server config.

I set the path to the exe, and I also added "--ts" to the start of the parameters (not sure if its needed).
I'll be recording some films tonight, so i'll see how well it does!

With "no changes", do you mean you entered nothing under 'parameters' in TV server > Pulgins > ComSkip config?

Exactly, wondering if it is a Vista permissions thing, especially if no file produced, i'm running a full admin account (like XP's one) maybe thats the difference, sorry just do not know why this is not working even manually :(

Just as a matter of information, my recording format is .ts

OK, I have my files, but a couple of issues:

    1. Comskip did not run automatically after a recording
    2. Does Comskip only work from my movies? If I play a recording from the TV Recordings section, I cant use comskip. If I try the same film from my movies, it works fine.

EDIT: Seems the Comskip in MyTV works was fixed after RC2. I'll have to wait for 1.0 then!

Not solved the fact it wont run though

ok - now it runs. hmmm cool.

The trouble that I had when I first tried comskip on Vista was similar to your, revs. It would just never run even though it was activated in TV Server Config and I was running under an admin level account, although not "adminstrator" itself. What I ultimately found was that if you double-click the comskip.exe in Windows Explorer it will tell you that this file is from an unverified publisher or something along those lines, and are you sure you want to run it. There is also a checkbox below that question that (when unselected) will make this question stay away next time you double-click it in Explorer. After I did that, it ran fine when started by the TV Server.

I think that's when the control freak part of me came out and switched to full admin account (to used to xp pro), you should see me arguing with my sat nav :D

I can't get ComSkip to run; nothing I do seems to work as I haven't been able to generate any txt files (except a test using ComSkipGUI).

After endless fiddling, I finally got this to work. The trick for me was to enter the parameter --playnice "{0}" under the config in TVServer. This is the default setting when you try to activate ComSkip under MP config. To add to the confusion, ComSkip must be activated in TV series config but not under MP config.

Getting the remote to work was an exercise in tortuous logic too, because the F7 and F8 keys performed both skip chapter and channel up/down commands and each time I changed one it effected the other. I had to reassign the channel up/down keys to F10 and F11 for everything to work properly.
