Tried several solutions.. now in C:\comskip.

have only extracted the files to this folder, is there some files I must run or should this be enough?

Has worked for me in past, or try putting files in Program files\team-mediaportal\comskip, this must be driving you nuts, something that sounds so simple

It IS driving me nuts :) Just have to try some more, but find it strange that the DOS window just flashes.. Seems like there something wrong with the exe file, but since I have tried several I find that hard to believe...

Anyways - Thanx a MILLION for your time and help so far!

Didn't miss it just forgot to answer ;) It's on the server yes.

It seems like it doesn't grab hold of the file I'm testing with (It's supposed to be a recording (.ts file) from the recording folder, right?), cause I get the same flashing console window when I try to start comskip.exe from the comskip folder. And if I try to test with a random file it does the same (not even a video file..)

Do the .ini file need altering or should this work "out of the box" ?

Some progress, now I got comskip to run by copying a file into the comskip folder, then tried to drag it over the comskipgui.exe file and then it got "proccessed" Also got it to work just by dragging it over comskip.exe without copying it, so comskip works, but running a testfile from within TVServer config or getting comskip to run after a recording ends still doesn't work :(

To see whats going on (whats flashing up in that command window), try adding "> C:\out.txt " to the end of your comskip arguments, this (in theory) should output whatever shows up in the command window to the file C:\out.txt - might have some helpful info in there!

    To test

Make sure you have given Comskip.exe the vista authorization to run as there is no valid embedded manifest in comskip.exe
    make sure you set
    verbose=10
    in your comskip.ini
Drag and drop a recording on comskip.exe, if it is a SHORT dvr-ms file and you are using the default comskip.ini then WAIT for at least 300 seconds before giving up as the console window will appear and comskip.exe will sit and do nothing for 300 seconds. You will see the progress of the processing in the console window and all text logged will also go to the log file with the same basename as the recording. The progress messages are NOT written to the log file.

If you go to the MCE Buddy website, there is a comskip.ini pack you can download which is updated for each country, so you need to edit your country name to the default comskip.ini that exists in your comskip folder, that should give you better individual results.

Could you say where? I just went there, signed up, and checked the download section AND the forums. The forums have 2 posts in the Comskip.ini forum, both old and no use.

Are you stating this from memory or recent experience?

As you can see, the drag and drop method works. When doing this the file gets proccessed and I can follow the progress in the console window. Now I have to figure out how to get it to work with MP :)

And verbose is set to 10 in ini file.
Using XP SP3 - Do I need some sort of authorization then..??
