CT TV Listings EPG Plugin (1 Viewer)

I cuurently do not have a tuner card but I would like to still access the epg data via mediaportal, I'm not even sure that I can do this? I cuurently am using the CTtvn package to display the information, but if believe the XML data if free to grab regularly (4 days worth only)., I would then like to use the xml data in the TV guide portion of Media Portal. Onbce again I am not sure if this can be done because I run into difficulties when I attemt to establish channels in the portal. I can;t seem to find a manual way to add channels, it looks like portalk will only allow channels wia auto setup of a video tuner card, Am I reading this correct , and can it be done ?

Thanks for the info. I am using 0.2.3. I set up a trial account yesterday and have been waiting for the activation email. I made 3 requests for it to be emailed but no go. I checked my bulk folder and even set the filter to send all emails from cttvlistings.net to go to the inbox. I will try again this weekend with a different email account. I hope it works as I am looking forward to trying out the plugin.

You might want to add ctpvr.com also. That is the main site.

If you are using MP stand alone you should be able to add channels manually easily via the configuration.exe TV section.

2) Zap2it Data Direct
3) XMLTV using XMLTV Child
4) XMLTV using ZAP2IT Child

which one of these should I be using.

Additionally how is the correlation in the xml data made to the MediaPortal Plugin, For instamce , if i view my scifi Channel on 58, and I see that the XML data indicates "SCIFI" does the logo in media portal plugin need to be "SCIFI" in order for the mapping to work properly ?

Geez, here we go again. Looks like the demise of CT TV listings isn't far away (April, 2008). Why is it so hard to get EPG listings in the U.S.???

"Computer Time, CO has sold it's CTpvr technologies to a Home Media Entertainment company who's name we cannot disclose at this time. The products effected by the sale are; CTpvr Media Center, CTpvr Client, CT TV Listings and all Listings Data Services. The sale of these products are discontinued effective immediately. We will continue to provide listing data until April 1st, 2008."

Not sure what you are asking next. Are you asking about the plugin or channel logos(images)?
IIRC, for MP stand alone I think the channel logo files have to be the same name as the channel.
In the thumbs folder, something like C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Thumbs\TV\Logos
I am not able to check ATM but if that doesn't work let me know and I will look.

You could try Schedules Direct.

Yep-already making switch now. Paid for my 1 year membership, but my EPG isn't being updated with the schedulesdirect plugin (it figures)....

My first order of priority is to simply get the thing working, so my first step is tp determine if i should be using either

1) Native CT TV Listing
2) Zap2it Data Direct
3) XMLTV using XMLTV Child
4) XMLTV using ZAP2IT Child

which one of these should I be using?[/B]

These are the 4 avaiable types/modes available from cttv.

I think you will have to either:
a)export your channels in MP and then clear your channels and then import them back in.
or
b) Delete all your channels in MP and re-autotune/scan (like starting over)

What you have to do is clear the mapping.

I have been using the CT TV Plugin for MediaPortal (TVE2) with great sucess. Then I decided to reformat everything and do fresh install of MediaPortal w/ TVE3. I having trouble getting any kind of response from the CT TV Plugin. I have followed the directions for the plugin install closely and set it up under the TVE3 configuration. Oh yeah, one other thing that I have noticed since installing TVE3 is that when I roam the TV guide is that instead channel 54 being listed as simply "54" it would look like this "54 54" (this holds true for all channels), could this be the problem? Thanks any and all for your help.

Strange. The "54 54" thing might be a MP setting.
Look for something like add channel number to the channel display name.

As for the not working, can you post the tv.log after an attempted update?
(I know the TVE3 database takes longer to update than TV2)
