CT TV Listing WebService Unavailable?

I'm trying to get the CT TV Listings EPG plugin configured. I setup an account with CT TV Listings, picked my provider, and did the autotune in MP. But the plugin is getting an error invoking the WebService to get the data:

This is the contents of the epg.log file:

And when MP starts-up, after about 10 seconds I get this message:
"Unable to process any channels, have you done an autotune in setup?"

Anyone see this before? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Hi,

I assume you put your ID/password in the plugin configuration?
Is there a firewall running that could prevent access to the internet from MP?

Hi patrick,
Thanks for your quick reply. Yes, my id and password are specified and are correct. I made sure by going to CT TV Listings website and logging myself in just to be sure. As for a firewall, I don't believe there's an issue with that. This is a clean XP Pro installation and I'm able to browse the web without issues.

So I'm still stuck. Are there any additional logs that I could provide you?
Thanks so much.

hmmm, XP SP2? If so check to make sure the windows firewall is disabled (in control panel).
(The update takes place from via MediaPortal process so it would be a different app from a firewalls perspective)

I have a more recent build of the plugin I just updated my EPG from so I know it works.
If you check the firewall is off I can upload it if you want to try it.

Yep, just checked windows firewall is in fact completely off. Could it be that I had a CT TV Listings trial account which expired, then I subsequently requested a new activation key? I re-activated and I can log into CT TV Listings and see my chosen provider, so I'm assuming the plugin is getting passed the authentication. I'm stumped...

But please, if you could upload your latest version I can give it a try. 'Preciate it ;)

Patrick, one other thing it may be.....I am running stand-alone Media Portal stable-release v0.2.3.0 downloaded from this link:
MEDIAPORTAL - free MediaCenter HTPC Software - MediaPortal Downloads

I have not applied any SVN builds. You think my version of MP could be the culprit?

:sorry:

OK....I knew something had to be wrong on my end.... so...I created a brand-new CT TV Listings account and the plugin is working.

Now, I do intend to go back to using the original account after I purchase the 1 year subscription from CT TV Listings, so stay tuned - I'll keep folks posted on that.

patrick, you may want to consider adding a checkbox which turns-on very verbose logging for the plugin; I mean dump everything the plugin is doing and all SOAP requests and responses. I know this means more code for you, but as a software developer myself, I understand the importance of logging in the debugging process.

I wonder if the CT TV LIstings SOAP service was spitting back something about my account being invalid... If you'd like to debug, I don't mind providing you with my original CT TV Listings account - the one which is causing problems. Maybe you could debug with it and see what's happening. If you feel that would be beneficial, send me an email at tfvjunk at rcn dot com

:D Thanks for your help.

I don't understand the requirements. What is rc1, rc2, a recent SVN?

The RCs are Release Candidates and SVN is the subversion the system that maintains the MP source code and are what the nightly builds are from.

You should be fine with the current 0.2.3 release of MP stand alone or the prerelease of the TVserver.

Disclaimer ;)
I do not test every MP release/build so unless somebody tells me there is a problem I probably do not know about it

Thanks for the info. I am using 0.2.3. I set up a trial account yesterday and have been waiting for the activation email. I made 3 requests for it to be emailed but no go. I checked my bulk folder and even set the filter to send all emails from cttvlistings.net to go to the inbox. I will try again this weekend with a different email account. I hope it works as I am looking forward to trying out the plugin.
