I'll echo psykik your a gent and a scholar DJBLU fantastic work it's people like you with the skills and the time that make mediaportal what it is. Without this plugin i wouldnt be able to use mediaportal satisfactory. It makes microsoft mediacentre look poor. I'd gladly pay for this add on its that good and the support is fantastic

Lurked for a good while, used this fork of MP for some time now - appreciate the hard work!

Just completed a fresh release candidate install - previously using the beta and whilst everything seems to be functioning properly I've noticed a quirk with channel changing. Before I'd have the plugin populate the channel database according to Sky's numbering and that worked fine, I'd then hide the "All Channels" group and changing channels would be no problem with the Sky remote.

Now I've discovered that I can only change channel within the group the channel I'm watching is part of, otherwise it acts as though I'd entered a non existent channel (no on screen notification). If I select a channel from the "All Channels" group having it appear in the guide once again, I can change channels as I would have done with the beta (across groups).

Whether this is a bug (feature?) with the release candidate or with the particular svn the files in the original post are built against, I don't know.

I'll have another look at it and edit this post if I figure out what's different from my previous install.

i cant get a client install to connect to the server pc with client front end.

I have installed rc1 on the laptop and put the host name in as the ip address fails completely saying check ip or name, so when i put in the host name, i get a report saying all ports seem fine and its found the server but cant connect to the database ?

any ideas?

ps. this used to work fine before i tried this plugin, must be something im missing.

The new plugin has been stable for a while, but all of a sudden has started to crash out.
In the TV log, I have:
Tvservice stopped due to an unhandled app domain exception System.IndexOutOfRangeException: Index was outside the bounds of the array.
at Sky_UK_Channel_and_EPG_Grabber.SkyGrabber.ParseChannels(Section Data, Int32 Length)

and then my TV Service dies. This happens about once a day at the moment.

I've been running this version for the last week or so with no problems. Just got back from holiday to find 1,000s of Body In Balance channels, MGM HD, True Ent etc... Having just one of these channels is bad enough!

The only place I can see these channels mentioned is in the tv.log:

Are you using MSSQL or MYSQL? I know that I had to allow TCP/IP connections using MSSQL, as they were not enabled by default.

Also, I found that I had to change the streaming server setting from AUTO to the IP address for it to work reliably.

That functionality isn't included yet - see previous posts further up... It was in the beta files, but has been omitted from the RC version at the moment.. (see post #485)

Cheers, I wasn't aware that the functionality isn't part of the official build.

I'll just do away with the groups for the time being.

Sky have moved a lot of channels lately and the plugin wasn't up to it.

I have modified the channel update logic so it should remove the old channels. I will be uploading it when I have tested it further.

Do you make any changes to tsreader in your plugins or is it ok to change it for another version?
