Sorry for pestering icam , yesterday re-installed the patches but i was unsuccessful again . I always dropped the database and also tried with fresh installed
MP 1.2.0

When you installed 1.2.1 was a fresh clean install or an upgrade from an older version?

Also is anyone else getting problems with my svn's as i've done 3 installs on other rigs for friends and not one had an issue (apart from the database error on the first run thats clears itself).

Looking at this its certainly a Database issue just a few questions:-

1. did you also do a fresh install of mysql (mssql).
2. does this error occur during the install or when you first run the tvservice?.

from what i can see in the log its not putting a column in the table. just something to check try installing with your firewall turned off As your the only one having this problem its gotta be something machine based.

I've upload 3 files copy them in the mptvdb folder then restart mysql and try loading tvservice these files will add the missing data Good Luck

Tried installing patches with disabled firewall and with your files ,schedule menu reappeared but always have problem prewieving any tv chans(unexpected error)
Strange is that i have no such problems with MP 1.2.1, 1.2.0 rc and beta...im lost...

Yeah Very strange i'd try uninstalling mysql and putting the newest version apart from that i cant really help anymore. guess your just have to go back to rc1 and use djblu installers As i say its only you thats had this problem from what i know of so its more than likely something to do with your system setup.

I had a similar problem way back......I seem to remember having to uninstall everything including mysql......but then also deleting the relevant folders/files that may have been left over post uninstall (including mysql).....then re-boot before installing again.

I Must agree with ian on this one! when i said to you to drop the database did you remove it from within mysql or manualy deleted the mptvdb folder? if you did remove it from the program then theres a good change the mptvdb settings have been left behind.

Will try and get logs soon but was awaiting djblu's return and saw problem posts coming up so thought I would post with my current findings.

I am unable to install the 1.2.1 svn version also.

A clean install of 1.2 final (have also tried 1.2.1 final). Everything works as expected and can scan channels.
As soon as I load in the 1.2.1 svn patch a few pages back in this thread I get an UnknownError on running the sky grabber or manually tuning to a channel.

I went back to rc version to test and this works as it did prior to attempting the 1.2.1 install so have left it there for now (full product cleanup was exectuted each time).


I also seem to have a problem with recordings- series link via quick record menu. Recordings set with the standard record options did record ok. All looks ok (as far as I know) in the scheduled recording section and also in the tv server configuration the programs are listed there but the machine didnt come on for recording. The machine was turned on when it was set to record one of the programs and this wasnt attempted either.

Thanks For the info. I have a virgin mp rig here so i'll see if i can replicate the issue on that also your logs would be nice.

edit ok guys i'm getting somewhere. As i'm getting errors on this new pc. I'm working on a fix right now and will report back later on cheers

Recording problems:

Tested on 2 machines:
What logs should I attach btw - I have attached tv.log.
I have added some recordings, series link and 2 programs on record once.

Doesn't look correct for the series link programmes in the tv server config schedule - attached screenshot.

Let me know if you require more info - this is on the rc version btw, I will wipe mp shortly to get the error logs for the UnknownError im receiving for the 1.2.1 version

I found out the reason for the errors those of you having problems YESSS.

Ok guys new svn's being uploaded its very important to follow my steps

1. Uninstall everything. drop database etc
2. install 1.2.1 offical
3. install my new svns (be here soon)
4. setup and scan (you will get the error but dont worry)
5. IMPORTANT you now must drop the database again.
6. redo settings (i know it sounds strange) and run the sky grabber and bang its works.

Do ask me why im guessing they added some new things to the database with the new build.
