Edit: I think I tried the newer versions a page or so back and failed to install, version mismatch between tv/client

Yeah, DJBlu posted a fixed Mediaportal executable to bring them both in line with the same version. That's what I was running currently and finding very flaky...

I've just realised that the 173 files released a few pages back were to fix MSSQL issues, so I am going to have to run with that version since I use MSSQL!

Fingers crossed the poor stability is due to windows updates, or the install and uninstall of various files after the clean install!

    I'll report back!

Is there something else different between the 168 files and the 173 files? I see a lot of errors in the logs of the 173 files and also entries related to Turbosight DISEQC commands being issued??

173 keeps crashing so for now I'll go to the 168 files on the first page and use MYSQL (since database upgrade fails on MSSQL)

    Cheers!

EDIT : Does anyone have earlier copies of the TBS 6981 and TBS 6984 drivers?

I'm having major issues for some reason - just done an install of the 168 files on first page and again I'm getting signal breakup - restarting tv service cures it for a while..

    There lies the issue.

Check the F Connectors to the TBS Card and LNB.

craigbeat what card are you using, and what driver? I'm having exactly the same issue - and I am pretty sure it isn't poor connection or signal as I haven't touched the cables - I just did an upgrade of the card drivers and a fresh install..

Unfortunately I don't have older drivers to go back to... and they don't appear to be on the TBS website..

I posted 2.0.0.18 drivers in the tbs ci thread if you want to grab from there

Double check card connectors? Could be that when it's working ok it's using tuner 1, when it's not it's using the 2nd tuner - happened to me before ;)

Could test by disabling a tuner in tv config and then swap round?

Edit: just noticed all my attachments have gone so driver isn't there, I'll upload it shortly if you still need it

    Thanks,

I'm doing a total reinstall of Windows 7 and a fresh install of Mediaportal and will see how that goes.. I suspect something went awry when I installed drivers or whatever at some point.. I'll try with the latest first since no one seems to be posting that they have any problems with it..

Windows taking forever to patch up to date though!

I take it you have a 6984 then.. are you using the latest driver ok? What OS?

    Fingers crossed!

Ah sorry, am running a 6981

DJBlu has a 6984 I believe so I guess all is well for him

    http://www.tbsdtv.com/download/document/tbs6984/

There is the version prior to the latest there - they used to have an archive of old drivers but they appear to have had a clean up :)

FYI - I've had it where the cable on the dish lnb breaks connection due to expansion/contraction, so don't presume cable is ok :)

Well if it still does it after a reinstall then I'll start looking at the cable - I have 6 tuners (a 6981 and a 6984) and 5 cables from one LNB and another to my motorised dish.. The ones from the Octo LNB are a fairly recent install and were done professionally so I hope they are ok!

Could be an LNB fault, but it did coincide with upgrades, and the cables and so on have not been touched - the PC never moves either..

    I'll soon see I guess!
