    It Works!!!!!!!

For those of you have an IMON VFD, and had problems with getting both the remote (IMON PAD) and cybrdisplay to work at the same time, (there was a workaround of stopping and starting frontview after MP started) there is some good news at last. With the latest release from Soundgraph, I thought I might test again, and it is all good!

The latest release of the SoundGraph driver (7.40.0806) now works correctly with cybrdisplay (05_08_08) !!!!

Attached are some pertinent screen snapshots of both cybrdisplay configuration and iMON configuration.

    YAY!!!

When I updated to iMON 7.4 it broke my LCD display. In order to get it to display anything (in MP or in Windows) I had to set frontview to display automatically. When MP launches, it properly takes control of the LCD, but when it closes the LCD frontview is displayed. This is not too big of a deal but I wanted to inform other users who may have the same confusion.

I had no such problems. In fact, I was able to disable frontview in iMON Manager AND turn off "restart Antec / IMON Manager frontview after exit" and it all still works. And the real plus is that the remote still works. Yes I don't get any display from frontview when MP is not running, with these settings, but I never wanted that anyway.

This is a complete change from earlier versions of the Soundgraph software, which always needed frontview running to keep the remote working. If you disabled frontview, the remote stopped working in keyboard mode. It seems they have finally got their act together and completely decoupled the logic for the display driver from the IR receiver driver.

To summarise, with the settings in my previous post (including frontview set to "always" in iMON, which I didn't show, I get frontview driving the display when MP is not running, and cybrdisplay driving it (after delay) when MP is running.

If I set frontview to "never" in iMon, and turn off restart Antec / IMON Manager frontview after exit, then I have a blank display outside of MP and cybrdisplay working in MP.

And in both scenarios, the iMON PAD continues to work....

I followed what I could see from your config screenshots - after trying various other stuff as well. But I have just nothing on screen when MP is running. The cybr plugins takes apparently control of the iMon stuff (it disable the frontview actually, turning it to complete black) and the log files seem fine to me.
But I just can't get anything else than a black frontview as soon as cybr plugin takes control over it.
The only major difference I see is that I run under Thermaltake retail software, not Silverstone. So maybe the hardware does make a difference anywhere... too bad for me ? (the rest is all exact same version as yours, globaldonkey)

I was wondering if there would just be some sort of stupid limitation. What appears to me is that the frontview becomes black no matter what as soon as the manager is set on "never" (and whatever I tried I did not manage to get the cybr plugin not to do this). I noticed in the log file a line saying pretty much "blacklight managing : false" so maybe that's a clue ?

But I'm really wondering, am I the only one with such issues out there ?

What firmware of iMON do you have, and is it a VFD, as opposed to an LCD? My configuration and problem with the old drivers was very specific to the older VFD. Firmware versions definitely matter. You will notice I have switched from auto-detect to VFD in the advanced settings. That may not be appropriate for you.

Cybrdisplay kills frontview when MP starts, because only one of them can control the display at once. And that's where the problem started for me, because it also killed the remote. When MP exits, cybrdisplay restarts frontview if you have that option checked. The settings I originally posted assumed you were running frontview before MP starts, and you want it running after MP stops. You had to have this arrangement in place with the old drivers for the iMON remote to work properly. With the new drivers, the remote works regardless of frontview's status - as I said, it looks like Soundgraph finally decoupled the display process from the IR Receiver process in their driver.

Hmm... the CybrDisplay Plugin was just added to the svn (20445), but I can't compile it.

I could compile the versions up to 20444 without errors but Visual Studio 2008 now tells me that it can't compile the CybrDisplay Plugin because there are some files missing. Could you manage to compile it?

Did you compile the complete MediaPortal solution ? The plugin needs some dll from the base installation to be in place...
