Thanks for sharing your DB! I spent some time to check if there are errors, but all seems to be ok. The most space inside DB is occupied by the thumbnails (~800 MB in sum). Your DB also helps to find bottlenecks and some (size, speed) limits in our communication architecture.

I think you have a setup that brings the "small SQL CE" engine to its limits. We will provide another DB adapter in future, maybe for MySQL or PostGreSQL to have a "real RDBMS" that can deal with this size without problems. This will introduce a more difficult setup though...

I'm glad the database was of use to you.

I think that people with databases as big as mine have enough "geekness" to deal with a special more complicated db setup. The important thing is to keep it simple for the average user.

Anyway, if you want me to test some code related to different database engines in the future than just let me know.

OK, may be a little later than this week-end.

I started with a fresh MP2 install, than applied the patch, so far so good. Did this on my server.
Unfortunately during scanning my media and some other software activity at the same time my server CPU and motherboard went up in smoke.
Server had been running for 5 years 24/7, I guess it died of old age.
Waiting now for the new CPU, motherboard, RAM and PSU to arrive. Luckely my HDD's and RAID arrays survived.

Ouch... Sorry to hear that. I hope your system gets running soon again! Good luck!

All up and running again with my server.

Started with a clean fresh system install.
Installed MP2 autumn plus MySQL patch.
Added: 1,000 movies, 517series (19,600 episodes), 35,000 songs and 63,000 picture and let MP2 do its magic.
The importing of all the media did indeed go faster, still took more then 10 hours, but a big improvement over previous.

But it is not all good news, I did find some strange behaviour in MP2.
    • MP2 is slower than before when searching the database and creating views
    • Movies works fine
    • Audio, Video, series and Images all come with the same error, see pictures below.
