    Old fart question.

Is it possible remove the font shadow in the TV guide?

I wear glasses and my eyes have trouble focusing on the font now that it has the shadow, or could this be made a option in the settings?

The fonts that the skin uses are defined in the file "fonts.xml" in the skin folder.

DWHD in MP 1.37 uses "Morebi Rounded" in various sizes. You could edit that file and change the names of the font to something else (such as the font used in the version of MP that you were using previously). Of course, the font definitions also need to be available, and they are found in the folder "MPDefaultFonts".

Looking in my backups, it appears that DWHD previously used "Noto Sans". I have attached the fonts xml file and the font definitions from that version of MP. Try replacing your existing ones with the ones in that zip file (backup the existing ones first). Note: there is no guarantee that the old font definitions will work correctly with the newer DWHD, so this may not be a solution for you.

Your message got me thinking about the.xml files. I found 2 files named mytvguide.xml mytvguide.15Lines.xml, I removed any line that had 'shadow' in it. And this serms to work. I think the skin needed to be set to Titan then back to defautwideHD to apply change?

Thanks again it got me down the right track.

Unfortunately I was unable to make it work.
Thinking about this now, you probably also needed to delete the font cache files in the MP "Cache" folder. That would trigger MP to regenerate the font cache files the next time that the MP client starts. Sorry for forgetting to mention that.

I removed any line that had 'shadow' in it. And this seems to work.
Excellent! I am glad that you found a solution that works for you :). Don't forget that when you update to a newer release of MP, you will need to re-implement your changes.

In most cases the xml files are loaded and reloaded each time that they are required in order to display a panel on the screen, but exiting the MP client and restarting it should be enough to pick up the modified files.

Ok, thanks much. I will look into the instructions above. For the moment, I turned off the "Automatic channel logo update" in Settings (which somehow I had missed, I think because it wasn't an option previously), and the deleted everything in the Flat-default folder and populated it with my own logos. Works, so far.
