i've just noticed that dugg will fail to run properly from a scheduled task if you're not logged in at the time.

    Hi guys
http://d1.com.au/D1xmltv.asmx provides free XMLTV compatible data - free for non commercial use that is.

http://www.bluemnts.info/tvguide/ can use this data to generate the actual XMLTV file, but maybe MediaPortal/XMLTV/WebEPG utilities should generate it instead to avoid killing that server!

The grabber for D1TV is added to the latest XMLTV scripts, but not to the xmltv.exe pack for some reason.

Please add this as a source for EPG info, the lack of Australian EPG data is so annoying.

    Hope this helps.

You can use D1XMLTVGrabber from ftp://lai-family.homeip.net/public-web/D1XMLTVGrabber.zip to grab data from the D1 web service. However, from reports in this thread, DUGG does a much better job at descriptions.

    EDIT: Fixed the link.

Just a quick note about dugg - the Australian guide grabber.

Some minor updates have been made recently that improve error-checking, and removes the 6-day grabbing limit.

Also, a version compatible with Windows MCE is now available.

Downloads or updates available from :

Today I noticed my tv guide was wrong and so I checked ninemsn only to find that it was right. I was unable to get DUGG to redownload the new data and so Im wondering if it has the ability to do this or not (detect changes to already parsed data)?

    Callifo,

My understanding is that DUGG will always download from the ftp server if the files are there. So if the files on the server are corrupt then you will always get this bad data.

Califfo ... there are certain circumstances when DUGG is able to detect corrupt or bad data. If it detects corrupt data downloaded from the FTP site it will then delete this data off the FTP server, grab the data from MSN and (if it's good) upload the good data.

The hard part is detecting bad data. It's difficult to anticipate all the possible ways it could be corrupt and write general rules that will always work.

Can you be more specific about what you actually noticed when you say the data was "wrong"? If you can tell me what day and which region the bad data is from I can find it on the FTP and have a look myself.

If I can see how it was wrong I might be able to write a new rule into the program to detect such defects in future.

A possible work-around would be to download the latest dugg.tkn file from http://dugg.ueuo.com . I updated it a few days ago with a few extra rules for detecting bad data but the changes were not major enough to justify an announcement or change of version number. Still they may enable the program to detect the bad data you mentioned.

Right now I can see corrupt data on the FTP for Austar Digital for Friday 26th and Saturday 27th. The new version will easily detect this data, but the reason it's there is that it was uploaded by someone using an older version.

A second work-around would be to delete all the files in the "data" directory and add the command "noftp" on its own line to dugg.ini -- this will force it to grab all new data from MSN. After running once you can remove the "noftp" command.

Its not that it was bad data, it was wrong data. Shows last night was updated (not sure when); 1 show replaced 2 cancelled ones. DUGG runs everytime the pc is booted so I was expecting to find the data updated (like my old crappy soln did) but I couldnt make it detect the changes.

Sunday May 21st Channel Nine 8:30 to 10:30. DUGG downloaded guide read 2x 1hr sessions of CSI. That was the data I supplied obviously much earlier in the week (Im grabbing 6 days ahead). Presumably saturaday or sunday it was changed and those two shows were replaced by one show, a 60 minutes special "The Great Escape". http://tvguide.ninemsn.com.au/guide/21052006_81.asp?channel=free&day=21/05/2006

I know that command now so thats good. If I do the noftp command, it will update my copy but will that then update the server's copy too? Because the next day when I update the data it will download the wrong data again....
