(I went and uninstalled the ATI omega drivers and went back to official ATI dirvers 6.11 for my card. No change in behaviour.)
(I also updated the TV engine and tv-plugin to current version tvengine3-09-04-2007--01-22h--Rev15745)
The exclusive mode is unchecked in the DirectShow filter control -> Video mixing renderer 9 settings.
About the DVD codec and there is checkmark on the "turn off DxVA". The codecs do not list Sonic or Nvidia Pure.
In the available list there is:
- MPV Decoder Filter (selected one)
- Dscaler Mpeg2 Video decoder
- Cyberlink Video/SP decoder
- Intervideo nonCSS video decoder for hauppauge
- Cyberlink MPEG muxer
- PDR MPEG muxer
- Hauppauge winTV MPEG2 muxer
- Cyberlink MPEG muxer
Same behaviour. I include log-file again.
In the log file there is: DVDPlayer9: Enabling DX9 exclusive mode
And later when re-playing the DVD there seems to be: DVDPlayer9: Disabling DX9 exclusive mode
By the way now everytime I stop MP, it crashes, very strange...
After a couple of months of tinkering, I seem to have got round the problem by adding the mediaportal .exe to the list of programs that DVD region-free is associated with. I'm not sure why this works, as the problem seemed to be present for every region DVD I threw at it, but anyway, it's all working now. And working damn well!
THat's a good point actually, playing back a video_ts folder off of a hdd has no problem whatsoever, but off of a disc is a no go, almost as if the region protection is causing the problem.
Hmmm, I'm not so sure anymore this has to do with the graphics card/drivers.
I installed an Nvidia 6600GT and ForceWare 162.18 to test the video/DVD playback and got ecxatly the same issue. Nothing in the logfile now either that indicate what the problem may be.
