Again I see the "Scheduling sample from the past..." thing, but absolutely nothing else stands out. I can only guess that whatever this is, it's something related to HDMI, your TV and/or Denon AVR/amp. That fits with what you previously said about it happening both inside and outside of MediaPortal.

If you think back to when the problem started...
Is it possible that you put in a new AVR, TV or GPU at around that time?
...or did you update your GPU drivers?
...or did you change your AVR or TV connections and/or configuration?

Are you able to use your phone to make a short video of what you're seeing?

At one stage a couple months ago I added a WIFI HDMI Transmitter which feeds signal from GPU2 to another 55" Samsung TV, but disconnected it and haven't used it since. That might have been around the time this started. I have the main TV plugged into GPU1 via HDMI and when the other via GPU2.

I just tried to switch the main TV HDMI from GPU1 to GPU2 but it happened again. I think since then I've done a clean Nvidia driver install too...

I just used DDU v15.7.3.0 via safe mode to completely wipe all traces of current and past NVIDIA drivers from my system and did a fresh install of 361.43 but it is still happening.

I'm confused. The log files you've provided say you only have one GPU, so what's the deal with this GPU 2 you're referring to?

I'm also still hoping for a video showing what you're seeing.

No, always had two GPU's. GTX 670 SLI, mentioned that in the first post. SCREENSHOT. The screen just goes black for 2-3 seconds, and the television (samsung) popup shows the resolution and HZ as if you've just changed the channel. Except neither the resolution or HZ rate changes, it stays the same.

Okay. Sorry, I missed the mention of SLI.

From your description, it sounds like the HDMI connection from PC <--> AVR or AVR <--> TV are re-connecting/re-handshaking for some reason. The black screen and popup would be symptoms of that. Your GPU driver is responsible for handling low-level connection details like that. Maybe try rolling back to the previous driver version you were using (358.50?).

[edit: In case it wasn't clear, I'm more and more convinced this problem has nothing to do with MediaPortal.]

Why were the logs only showing one GPU? Is that an issue? Do you think there are any alternative steps I could take rather than rolling back drivers?

Yes, I figured. Thanks again for the help. Proving again how rock solid MediaPortal has become. Love it! Thanks a lot legend.

I have no idea. It could be normal.

For what it's worth this is what the MP log shows:

Do you think there are any alternative steps I could take rather than rolling back drivers?
    In short: no.
Considering the recent run of problems with NVidia drivers and the fact that the driver you're using is a new one (approx. 1 month old, so therefore must have been installed relatively recently), to me it seems very possible that the driver is the cause of the problem.
Therefore I think it's important to eliminate the GPU driver as a potential cause of the problem as soon as possible.
I'm not able to suggest a better way to do that than to roll back to the driver you were previously using.

Hello again. I did mention that it's only happening in Mediaportal, it's not happening anywhere else. Games are fine, VLC is fine, mediaplayer is fine. I really think that it has something to do with the dynamic refresh rate changer/system....

If it's due to the GPU then why is it specific to mediaportal?

Now I'm really confused because you seem to be contradicting yourself. In -->this post<-- you specifically said it also happened with VLC:
I played The Avengers in mediaportal and got sick of the error, so played it in VLC and the same thing happened?

    Can you please clarify.
