Hi
I have actually a simlar problem. Had my PM Server and MP Client working perfectly with 1.2.3 and recorded TV was played smoothly. Every time I switched teh video format (e.g. movie to TV and back) the TV (Samsung 8090) indicated that MP switched the refresh rate to 50 or 24 or ....

Now I have upgraded the server and the client to 1.3.0 and that DRR doesn't seems to not work anymore, playback isn't smooth anymore and the TV never indicates that MP changes the RR

DRR is enabled and I have tried many different setting but it didn't work. So I restored the server/client with Acronis and now I'm back to a smooth playback.

However I would like to switch to 1.3.0 again as I like the features and the Skin

Anybody who can help?

Thanks a lot

Daniel

Hi Homy
here you are. Have installed MP 1.3.0 again on my Server and Client. MP starts and TV shows 1920x1080x60Hz
Playing a recorded TV Show (I use digital devices DuoFlex C) the playback isn't smooth anymore but it was with MP 1.2.3
Then start a Video file, MP properly switches to 24Hz and also the TV shows 1920x1080x24Hz
Go back to watch a recorded TV show MP doesn't switch back and the TV still shows the 24Hz settings

Somehow MP doesn't recognize the 50Hz format of the recorded TV Shows. MP 1.2.3 switched but 1.3.0 seems to have an issue here.

Hope the explanation and the attached logs helps to resolve this

Thanks
Daniel

LiveTV uses the RTSP protocol, and this is a limitation (for now), since we can't determine the Frame Rate on an RTSP stream. When the Dynamic Refresh Rate doesn't detect the correct Frame Rate, it can't switch, so you'll have to set a default refresh rate on 50Hz.

I assume on v1.2.3. you used either UNC paths for TV, or set a default refresh rate @ 50Hz, since nothing changed on this part.

    Thanks Homy

I was aware of the RTSP protocol limitation but I don't use UNC path or have a default refresh rate @ 50Hz in 1.2.3.

I just tried it again today: went back to my 1.2.3 (image restore) and upgraded to 1.3.0 (using 1.3.0 built in upgrade methode during installation). IMHO this upgrade doesn't change any settings around DRR. While TV Recording Playback works smoothly under 1.2.3 it doesn't under 1.3.0
I tried to set a default RR @ 50 Hz under 1.3 but also that doesn't work

    I'm clueless at the moment

    Thanks
    Daniel

Had another look at your logs, and i see a couple of errors:
    Code:
    2013-03-23 17:50:22.580338 [ERROR][MPMain(1)]: Failed filter: not found
Did you check your codec settings?

I see you've setup LAV for the Video section, and the Bad Boys MKV played perfect @ 23Hz, but there is no switch back to a default setting refresh rate:
    Code:
2013-03-23 17:50:13.422814 [Info.][MPMain(1)]: RefreshRateChanger.AdaptRefreshRate: 'auto refreshrate changer' not going back to default refreshrate
but there isn't much more info the logs.

I use the built in LAV filters, I didn't change anyting. If you have a hint what to change I could try it.
On the server I only tried the upgrade but on the client I tried an inline upgrade and a clean install (after restoring a clean Win7 Image) but neither worked

Check the TV codec settings in Configuration, according to your logs you're using these for TV:
