Hi, I just started using MediaPortal 1, but I cannot configure it to grab the EPG information. I am using a SiliconDust HDHomerun Dual TV Card (2 tuners). Windows 8 s my OS. What can I do to configure the EPG properly?

another US EPG option is to download, install, configure the SchedulesDirect plugin. I think it costs about $25/yr for an account and download the EPG info. I have not tried this option. You can download the MePo plugin from the following and it has links to the MePo forum about SchedulesDirect

    TLD,

I don't think the EPG option you showed applies to US OTA/ATSC. I tried turning it on, enabled background EPG grab, view show for 30 minutes etc. The logs shows EPG grab starting, but it does not find anything. I think that only applies to DVB outside the US.

You can get US EPG grabbing working for ATSC OTA if you download/setup EPG Collector and XMLTV. Not sure I'd recommend this option for a new MePo user. I put an example of how I set this up in the following forum message.

I've setup my HDHomeRun in MP1 as (4) IPTV cards rather than Atsc. I can see the (4) Atsc cards, but just have them disabled. I did it this way so I didn't have to edit the channel names every time tested a new TV-server install. Anyway, it works. I don't know if this would get you past the BDA driver issue. I'll provide more...

Concerning the HDHomerun Expand. This has 4 tuners, and is DVB-C It has, of course, latest software from Silicondust already installed, version name 20230713. BDA compatibility mode is set to MediaPortal. Advanced --- BDA driver set to InjectCVCT plus automatically select from tuners recommended.

MP2 uses the same TV engine as MP1, so it must work also with MP2, you just need to select TVE3 and not TVE3.5 in the installer. MP2 also supports a 3rd TV engine TVMosaic, but this is configured web-based and I can not tell you, if this works with your hardware.

I have not experienced that myself, and I don't know of any reason why that might occur (but my knowledge of how TV Server works is not extensive). It is strange that you mention this because there are now four DVB-T channels in the UK that behave in the same way (this is new for the UK). I think that these might be some sort of...
