Hi.
Gave it a spin, and liked the simplicity - esp. of list view in MovPic. Hopefully you will continue with this minimalistic design, meaning cutting useless stuff (several identical pictures, counting up + down + total time of music etc).

BUT: The text is to small to be pleasant to read. It is readable, but it is not "eye friendly" over time.

Also, I believe the font, Segoe, is only supplied w/Win7. Ref: Segoe - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

That is the idea, keep it simple, minimalistic and elegant. What do you mean by cutting useless stuff? Do you mean I have "useless" images or that I should avoid it?

Are you referring to the text in the listview of movingpictures or in general? Regarding the font, that is true that it is only w7 iirc. I am looking for a suitable font to use within the theme and I was using it until I find one, ill change it to a more common font that's available sub w7.

If you change the font to "Verdana" in fonts.xml instead the text is easier to read, at least I think so. I have updated the fonts.xml in the skin and on the google project source files, if you wish to try it.

No, you don't have useless stuff in your skin Just hope it stays that way. As an example, I find it useless to see "time playes" + "timeleft" both counting up/down + totalt time when playing music. Also it anolyes me when I see same picture (like album art) 3 places at same screen.

Keep up the good work! We need another 1080-skin

Ahhh, now I understand. That is my thought exactly! I have not started on the music overlay yet, but I was thinking albumart, song/artist and currenttime+total time or ignoring currenttime+totaltime and just use a progressbar instead.

It's my intention to provide a new 1080p skin for Mediaportal, just takes time to learn how to skin from scratch, but learning by doing and it's lots of fun when it actually works!

Been working on the filmstrip view for the skin today. This is the results, I have two versions and I cant decide which one I like the best. Which one do you guys prefer?

I have created a new and updated development release that is available for download on here. It says that it's r21 but it's actually based on r23. Sorry for the mixup in the filename.

Alternativ 2.

I'm not sure why, because in alt 1 it was easier to find out codec, audio etc, but alt 2 looked better.

I like the musicoverlay .

Regarding BHS, I believe there is a thumb of rule that says that there should always bee odd numbers from a design view. IOW, there shoudl be 5 menus w/drop down (or 3/7 for that sake).

This skin is kinda starting to grow on me

Thanks for you input guys! It really meens alot to me to get critic on the skin as it helps me focus and continue working on it!

I think the musicoverlay is quite cool aswell. Now I just need to add a sliding animation for it.. Ahhh I was not aware of that. The current button's stands for: Watch, Listen, Weather, PlugIns/Settings. I could move weather to the plugins/settings view and see how that looks.

Glad to hear it grows on you! I will try to finish moving pictures this week aswell as the osd controls then move on to myMusic or TV-Series, not sure which one yet though.

Thanks cul8er! I will try to make a mix of them both as alt 3 and see how that looks. BTW, I was toying around and tried to add a overlay to the zoomed/unzoomed images but they never fit exactly even though i use the same size for them, animations dont work either since it never scales the overlay just the coverart. Do you know how to fix that? For now i removed it completely since I did could not make it work.
