Ok, I see. The way I deal with this issue is I have remapped the volume keys on the windows remote and keyboard in EG so that they control the amp volume, not the Windows volume. The Windows volume is always at max. No need to pick up the amp remote. Is that solution an option for you?

    Thanks mickelin!!

Well, I have a workaround that is working well and more complex than yours. Because I use HDMI audio mixed to stereo (ffdshow) and controlled by windows and using Audio Render Changer I passtrought digital audio to Amp. This always work properly, as far as the remote is aceppted and recognized by Eventghost but if remote is not recognized... things will be very difficult. With eventrigger sending volume and mute changes, things will be really easy. My setup even auto-activatess the amp when radio or music is played. TV, Videos,Online videos.... etc.. are played to TV by default. Music, radio, shoutcast, LastFM goes to amp. So I need windows volume active. Audio Render Changer allows me to choose between TV (Stereo-HDMI-with volume control by win) or Amp (digital multichannel- volume control by amp). I also use VoxCommando.com (that's amazing you have to see) to voice control everything even volume changes. Unfortunatelly my remote is approaching it's live end and other RF Remotes may not be recognized by Eventghost and things stop working. Is not a real problem at the moment but could be. That's why this triggered messages could help in this scenario.

For me the set up, even auto On and OFF of the amp, mute changes and sync are properly working thanks to eventtrigger that even configures the type of audio procces in the amp acording to the audio source transmited (THS for films and Direct Stereo for music).

    Thanks again for help

Hm, tricky but not impossible. Here's an idea. How do you switch audio renderer with ARC? Do you switch manually using a short cut or is it done automatically? Either way, it should be possible to capture that event in EG. If you set up two macros in EG; one that directs all volume commands (remote, keyboard, vox) to Windows and one that directs them to the amp. You then use the renderer switch event to enable one macro and disable the other. Then the volume commands are always sent to the active renderer. Or you could use the eventtrigger events to enable/disable the macros. Sounds you are already doing something similar, so probably just an adjustment

If/when you decide to replace your remote I recommend using an iPad/iPhone or Android device running the iRule app. Works very well with EG and MP.

I've had a look at vox, but since my production systems are running XP I haven't implemented it yet. I use the voice plugin in EG but that isn 't very reliable.

Well, the thing is that I've a working solution for that. I change ARC with red remote button calling a Ctrl+K command in EG and sends all comands to amp and ARC. My setting are working properly but will b better call them by and event triggered .and also volume with is recognzed by EG. But only because EG receives my remote key presses. With other remotes this won't be possible. Voxcommando also sends volume events and are sended to EG.

Look at voxcommando.com you will love t.

    Thanks for your ideas

I don't think we quite understand each other. If you send me your EventGhost xml-file, I'd be happy to send it back with some suggestions for improvements to eliminate the volume issues.

    Hi moryoav
    !

I do not like EventGhost very much (it is not stable for me for some reason) but use AutoHotKey instead, and its scripts work extremely reliably - I use it for Genius LuxeMate T810 Media Center keyboard and Philips SRM 7500 RF/IR remote,
allowing for a great flexibility if needed
    .

Would it be possible to capture MP events with AutoHotKey via your plugin?

I also would very much suggest combining your plugin with the Message Plugin to have a two way communication with MP in one place.

    I found a situation where I'm missing a trigger.
Lets say I'm watching a recording and pause during commercials. Now Recordings.Pause will be triggered and my lights turns on. After getting back I press right arrow to skip step the commercials and the video starts playing again but no event is triggered in EventGhost so the lights stay on. I'd expect something like Recordings.Resume to be triggered.
Do you think it's possible to add a trigger for this case? Thanks

    Hello,
I'm trying to set something up where I can control a TV rotator box using eventtrigger and eventghost. I was hoping that MP would issue an event whenever a scheduled recording starts so that I can make sure that the TV antenna is pointed in the correct direction. I'm not seeing an event posted for this in the eventghost log.
Has anyone tried something like this? I'd appreciate some suggestions. Unfortunately I can't get MP's IRSS to work on my machine.

eventTrigger is only running when MediaPortal is started and recordings is handled by TV-Server. Some people might not even have the TV-Server installed on the same machine as eventTrigger.

Perhaps you can use the Directory Watcher plugin in EventGhost to monitor your recording folder and trigger an event every time there's a new file being written.

You could also try For the Record. It can be configured to execute a program when a recording starts (such as eventghost.exe -e trigger).

You can use ForTheRecord. FTR is able to execute executables when something happens. You have a few options to when the action has to be executed, when recordings starts, stops and more.

I am also sending an event when recording starts/stops. I couldn't get it to work and made this topic: http://www.4therecord.eu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=2209
See my last post over there, that's how I did get it to work.

//edit: Oh, now I see vuego also said something about this :)
