    Hi again Melstig

Thanks for investigating the decryption behaviour. Your results confirm the conclusion that your card can only decrypt one channel at once :(

There is nothing that we (MP team) can do to add support for decrypting multiple channels at once if the manufacturer doesn't provide drivers that support the function. Of course you could try and contact Terratec to request support for the feature...

Regarding the decrypt limit bug: it would be great if you could remember to report back here when you try MP 1.2.0b to confirm that the decrypt limit works with that release.

Until then, all the best :)

    Thanks for your effort,
I will try to remember to post back after the version upgrade.

That was a little of a show-stopper, that the H7 was not able to decode multiple channels.

The only tuners that I know of that support multiple simultaneous decryption are the DigitalEverywhere FireDTV and FloppyDTV, so if you are really deperate for that feature then you might need to consider buying one of those tuners...

[Edit: My advice is based only on my reasonably good understanding of the TV Server conditional access code. Other tuners may support the feature, but if they do then I am not aware of it.]

I have a FloppyDTV-T on the shelf, but my new livingroom-Asrock HT-100HT-BD has no Firewire-connection.

What can I say, lesson learned.. :)

    Darn!

Time to buy a PCI firewire port?!?

    :)

[Edit: I see the mobo doesn't have any PCI or PCI-e slots. Gutted :( ]

    mm1352000,

I just gave this a try using the procedure from post #9.

I tuned to TV3 at 14:38:33.734140 and started to record "Extreme home make over" at 14:38:34.230168.
I then tuned to Kanal5 at 14:39:00.364663 and was able to see a few seconds.

At 1:51 into the recording both Kanal5 and the recording fails, ie both live TV and the recording. The actual recordingfile is growing in size but I can't get beyond 1.51 in VLC.

I am using a FireDTV, and it has worked before...

    EDIT
I have tried this a few more times but can't reproduce the behavior above... I also restarted the tv-service to see if that mattered. I always suspect hibernation when MP is acting up. In my setup I kill and restart MP and TV service at resume .

Thanks, that can be one possible solution. One big problem is that there is no room in the chassis for the FloppyDTV-T, I have to install it outside the box and build some case somhow. There is a place for another 2,5" HDD but I think the tuner is bigger than that.

Other cards support multichannel decoding according to the Wiki so I will look into that further.

I wouldn't trust the wiki at the moment. I have asked the team whether it is actually accurate and will let you know what I hear...
