Fail to correctly record 2 channels on same tuner (2 Viewers)

Last version for today for me. I'm not quite sure what is happening with the descrambling but I'm at least hoping to get some of the other data. That might tell me more about what is supported and what isn't...

That was a good idea you had I think! I have not got time to make much deeper testing but I am able to record on TV3 and Kanal5 on the same time now!!!

There are some strange bahaviours while trying to play the ongoing recordings but I will get back to that in a later post. I am ready for bed now and there are some recordings going on that I do not want to mess with.

Hi,
This morning when I woke up my system from sleep, TVService had lost the connection with all tuners. In Windows they were ok. Had to restart the tvservice to get them detected again. Had no problems with this before. These logs are from this error. Will post more logs later with recordings etc after a clean reboot.

Is your IP address assigned via DHCP, or is it static?

Hi,
Did a clean reboot, let the system go into standby and woke it up. This time the tuners were available.

1. Started to watch TV and zapped around a bit between FTA and scrambled channels and that worked as it should. Rather quick channel changes.
2. Started a recording on TV3.
3. After a minute or so I started a recording on Kanal5.
4. Stopped live TV when I was on Kanal5 to be able to switch to windowed mode for MP.
5. Went into TV, but Kanal5 did not start automatically. I tried to start TV manually on Kanal5 but that failed "no signal found" i think the message was.
6. Switched to TV3 for live TV and that worked and after that I could tune into Kanal5 also. This is not a new behaviour btw, this happens often even with the original dll with live TV on the H7 when TV is started in a scrambled channel.
7. Stopped both recordings and gathered the logs.

- Both recordings worked and I have been able to watch them both.
- When the recording starts there are some major pixelation in live TV.

Will do some more testing with multiple recordings, I do not understand how I am going to be able to explain what I do but I will give it a try.. .

I got the general idea that things were working pretty well from the logs you posted earlier. Some of the other functionality that I have tried to add is closer to working as well, but it still isn't quite right so I'm going to see if I can do something about that. I'll also take a look at the latest logs to see anything can be done about the Kanal 5 starting failure.

- When the recording starts there are some major pixelation in live TV.

I'm not going to do anything about that right now, although I'll think about whether I can do something to resolve it. I'm guessing it is caused by the CAM receiving the new list of channels that it has to descramble. I send the full list of channels each time a scrambled channel is requested. When the CAM receives the new list it probably throws away the old list and stops descrambling all channels until it has processed the new list (which might take 0.5 seconds)...

The biggest thing I'd be interested to know is how many channels the CAM can descramble at one time. I'm not sure how many scrambled channels you have access to though...

10. TV6 Ok, same transponder as TV3 and Kanal5.

09:00 2010-12-29 TV8 live TV freezed. Turned TV off and on, then it started again.
09:02 2010-12-29 TV8 live TV freezed. Turned TV off and on,this time it did NOT start. Tried again = fail.
09:04 2010-12-29 Tried to zap from channel 1 -> 6, but when on Kanal5, it failed. The last frame on Tv4 showed.

Hi again,
Made three recordings on the same transponder, TV3, Kanal5 and TV8. The only recording that worked was the one on Kanal5, the other two failed. The recordings seemed to run but when watching the picture freezed after while (TV3 1:38, TV8 00:51).

Hopefully the logs can tell you something what went wrong.

Made another try on another transponder with more channels.

Made these recordings in sequence. After each started recording i played all of the ongoing recording up from recorded TV to the real-time position.
1. TV4 - TV4 Ok
2. TV6 - TV4 Ok, TV6 Ok
3. TV4 Plus - TV4 Ok, TV6 Ok, TV4 Plus Ok
4. TV400 - TV4 Ok, TV6 Ok, TV4 Plus Ok, TV400 Ok
5. TV4 Fakta - TV400 - TV4 Ok, TV6 Ok, TV4 Plus Ok, TV400 Ok, TV4 Fakta Ok
6. TV4 Film - Got the channel is encrypted message, think this might be the limit, 5 channels on the same transponder.

Tried to play the recordings again but now there was som major trouble playing.
TV4 Ok
TV6 Ok
TV4 Plus, did not start from real-time at all
TV400 Ok
TV4 Fakta, did not start from real-time at all

7. Stopped all the recordings and try to play them.

TV4 played to the end
TV6 played to the end
TV4 Plus could not play all recording, after that MP GUI froze and had to kill it.

There were some issus playing the recorded tv though. It just stopped playing sometimes, but when restarting them from the beginning it worked again, this might be a player/timecode issue. The problem occurs when playing a recorded TV near or in real-time. Perhaps my systems disk IO is to high.

Will reboot the PC and try to play them again.
