I have installed the 1.7 version of the plugin, but it doesn't detect the entries in the Mediaportal Music-database (0 detected) and when you press Start scraping it is busy for a while, but when hitting 100% no fanart is there.

Read this post from Joz. Delete your FanartHandler.db3 database file and start a new scrape. HTBackdrops.com is back up again, so it should work.

Have been fiddling around and got it to work, but I don't know how

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your reports (keep them comming) but remember. I will not (and cannot) answer issue reports that has no error logs attached. So please include the error.log, fanarthandler.log and the fanarthandler_config.log when reporting an issue.

I have added this plugin into my MediaPortal mix as I'm now using the Maya skin as my skin of choice, and it ends up with great Now Playing results using this plugin.

However, I have an issue which I'm not sure is due to me not using this correctly.

I don't get the artist thumbnails while I'm browsing music UNLESS I have at some stage played music by that artist in now playing. Once I have done that then I end up having that artist thumbnail from then onwards.

I have done a full scrape and have hundreds of artists all in the fanart db, but they just don't seem to get to the music browsing views automatically.

Anyone seen this happen?

Maya only supports fanart in now playing.
This is up to the skin to decide

Except that I switched over to Wide blue to see if it was happening there too and it was there too.

And it's not like it never shows the artist in those views, it does, just I have to have played some of their music in now playing at some time in the past.

It's quite odd :-/

Thank you for your feedback. However, the fanart handler does not manage thumbnails only fanart (backdrops). Thumbnails are handled by MP. To get thumbnails for every album in MP you should open MP Configuration and configure the audioscrobbler plugin (in that plugin you can initiate download of thumbs).

Ahh, thanks for the info. I knew this didn't handle album art, but thought it was responsible for artist thumbs.

Cool, I will look into the other plugins also.

I must say that this plugin does make 'now playing' look pretty awesome
