cul8er - I also get occasional mismatches (e.g. Air shows AFI) . I don't know if you can avoid it. However, if it is possible, perhaps the fanart handler could at least display the exact match first?

I have reconstructed the matching engine and now it matches my files very good. Have also implemented the first part of SQLLite support that will be used by the music fanart scraper.

I have one last little matching problem, but to know how big it is can anyone tell me what artists you know that have trailing numbers in the artist name (like U2)?

You mean with or without a space first? Most have spaces first but not always:

Matchbox 20, RJD2, X-Press 2, Agent 51, Blink-182, D12, Sum 41, Bran Van 3000, Union 13, Eiffel 65, Jurassic 5, Maroon 5, Zero 7, UB 40, Joe 90, there are a few more but often they are under Various Artist albums EDIT: which means no backdrop for artists anyway)

i try v3.7b ,to see if any of the update brack somting thet was working fine ,and i find this :
if have a few fanart 2 and more ,all work good and cycle nice.

if no have fanart at all it still work fine (i means no problem with cycle)

if have only 1 fanart have some dime problam ,the fan art stay view cycle 1 time fine, cycle 2 time fine ,then from cycle 3 and more ,
the fan art dime evry time the cycle need to be chang ....is thir somting you can do ?

again if you dont have any fanart or 2 fanart and more all look good ,only if have 1 fanart from the 3 cycle the fanart dime evry time.

i was testing with only selected music fanart directory.

hi cul8er ! did you find the problam ? in v3.8 beta the cycle dime problem now start from the secend cycle .

Hi ysmp,

This is not something I can solve. Because the transition effect (fading) is done by two images and fading occurs when changing from one to the other you will always have this fade even if it is between two images that really is one (the case when you only have one available fanart for an item).

thanks for this great plugin realy make things a lot faster in the menu and give you more control of the backdrops.

I was just wondering if you had any plans to also implement the ability to display weather images in the plugin?

maybe also something that would allow you to display random images from a weather folder and also allow you to display an image of the current weather conditions, like you can with the infoservice plugin

This would be very usefull for a lot of people

Hi,

Beta 4.0 now available. Please not that this now is a MPI installation. This version has SQLLite support so a new FanartHandler.db3 will be put in the database directory. This is the first version with SQLLite support and I have done little tests so expect bugs if you decide to try it.
