Just one quick question. What have you done with the movingpictures 1.0 thing. Did you create a patch, or is support for both versions in this (one) release?

Hi,

The new version will include support for the Moving Picture 0.7.5. At the same time I make that version available I will also create a patch (zip file) that anyone using Moving Picture 1 can use. The patch file is allready packed and good to go

The scraper has a nice feature that I'm not sure I have mentioned. It will download images (if found) for your artists in your MP database but it can also download (if enabled in config) fanart for the artist that you currently are playing (in for example Last.FM). I have only tested a short time but here it works great and a few seconds after a new artist is played, fanart are downloaded and displayed on screen I'm only worried what this will do to my harddrive

I have found my first bug.

My system seems to be scraping artists nicely, all downloaded images have a 5 digit number after the artist names (I don't know if this is a problem yet) but if I try to go to 'Now Playing' MP hangs and I have to close it. I don't know if this will still happen once the scraping has finished, I'll let you know when it's done the 1000 or so artists

Brilliant. Best Xmas present I could have hoped for! This skin has totally revolutionised my use of Media Portal and that is a very telling statement given the early state of the current revision. Support for Moving Pictures 1.0 (I need to keep the kiddies away from "Kill Bill") and artist scraping from HTBackdrops will further improve this, already exceptional, skin. Good job, Cul8er, and thanks for all the hard work.

All working now that the scraping has stopped, it didn't like the now playing screen when it was scraping!

By the way, how long did it take to scrape all those artists? And how many did it download?

What skin do you use when testing the plugin (xfactor??). If x-factor are you using the version from SVN on google code site? Tying to find the now playing bug.

I'm using Black Glass 2.01 not X-factor (sorry)
the scraper has downloaded 584 images so about 375 artists.
I don't know how long it took as I kept crashing MP and starting it up again and generally messing around while it was doing it, it didn't seem long though (10Mbit internet connection)

I know you said not to use it on large music collections but I like living on the edge

Yes fanart is working in Videos and Music Vids again in beta 5. THANKS!

I have one issue though. When there is no fanart, in Music or Videos or anywhere, I use a multiimage control as default backdrop. It takes about 10 seconds before the condition is processed (<visible>Plugin.isenabled(Fanart Handler)+!control.isvisible(91919293)</visible>), so there is a plain background at first. Once the default backdrop displays, it is fine until I exit the window and reenter, or enter a new window. Is there any way around this?

I also have a question. - what if users want to use the fanart handler for music but not for videos? Is there any condition I can use when Videos is disabled in the plugin? or the other way around i.e. use it in Videos and not in Music (which is unlikely!).

I am still not entirely clear everywhere the fanart handler is supported. I don't know how you are enabling it. Should it work anywhere where #selecteditem is supported and there is match on the name? Or do you have to enabled it specifcially in the code for certain windows?

I haven't tried the scraper yet on my 2500 artists! Let me know when you want me to do a torture test on it!!!
