First line of TV subtitles not displaying at top (3 Viewers)

Hi, I've been using MP1 for many years but am new to the forum.
When watching recorded TV shows with subtitles, normally they are displayed near the bottom of the screen, but sometimes they are displayed at the top (during opening credits) and if the subtitle text is longer than one line, the first line is not displayed and the 2nd line is at the top of screen.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
I've had this problem for years on different versions of MP1. I have older laptops (Vista & Win10) recording the TV shows and a newer laptop (Win11) for watching the recorded TV. I'm assuming it is more likely to be a display issue than a recording issue, but I don't know what controls the positioning of subtitles.
DVB Australian TV.

I use DVB-T in the UK, and although the subtitles usually display near the bottom of the screen, they do occasionally appear elsewhere. I think that this occurs when there is something important on screen that the subtitle authors don't want to obscure, or there is dialogue in quick succession so multiple subtitle lines appear simultaneously. So your subtitles appearing at a different location when the opening credits are on screen is consistent with this behaviour.

Unfortunately, I know nothing about how the subtitles are generated, so can offer no further information. :(

i read this was happening with recorded tv, and i was wondering if
    • the broadcaster embeds the subtitles (can you turn them on or off in mediaportal)?
    • the tvserver embeds the subtitles?
    • are the subtitles in a separate file next to the recording?
