The sub-title of this program is 179 characters long! I wouldn't call that normal ;)

So if you add all the other parts of the format string I'm sure the end result will be > 260 characters.

We'll add a fix this to For The Record, since it's clear that this may indeed cause problems, but for now let's hope your other programs use a more "normal" episode title :)

So I solved the problem with long sub-title by not using the LONGTITLE in filename format.

But please can you add an option for Mediaportal plugin to hide the sub-title in the channel selection? Now I get long scrolling text which overlaps with text on right side in the Monochrome 2.5 skin. I assume you have created the skin for Monochrome, so may be it is possible to modify the skin so the program description in the channel selection does not fill the whole area and thus it cannot overlap with other text on right side.

That's the wrong port :)

http://localhost:42080/ should do it (I'm assuming you used cassini as web server)

The URL you are trying is the low-level URL to access For The Record's WCF services for remote access by e.g. the Management Console or Server Status.

Stuttery recordings...

One thing I've noticed since installing 4TR is that I'm getting quite a few "stuttery" recordings :( If I record more than one channel at once (or if recorded programmes overlap on the same channel) the resulting recordings are often very bad. The 4TR processes seem to suck up a lot of my CPU (P4 3ghz CPU and 1GB DDR RAM). I've killed the Cassini webserver plus the IM-bot thing (disabled them both) but 4TR still seems very CPU intensive and recordings are not as good as they were with the standard MP TV plugin (only when recording more than one programme at a time though - unfortunately that happens quite a bit in my house)

Another thing is that I can't play recorded TV (or videos) while programmes are recording because they get jittery too due to the CPU being maxed out :( :( :(

I don't want to go back to the standard MP TV plugin so has anyone got any ideas? Will upgrading my RAM do anything (I can go to 4GB and I was thinking of doing that anyway).

Hope someone's got the answer!

Dave

The core service shouldn't be using much CPU at all, so something is wrong. Have you actually seen this high CPU usage? And if so, could you relate it to some activity?

The recording is still done by TV server, so during a recording the For The Record core services don't really do much at all, if even anything. So CPU usage during a recording should be close to 0%. Are you perhaps running a live processing command on your recordings?

As a real-world example: I have loads of parallel recordings going on at home, often five or six at the same time. And I have no problems either with CPU usage or the resulting .ts files. The only problem I have is that I never get to watch everything I record since I'm too busy with improving For The Record ;) :D
