Firstly thanks for the fast response, as someone else mentioned you're providing phenomenal support at the moment, it's much appreciated.

Ok, I understand that card priority is reversed, so what exactly am I setting in the management console? Is that the priority for live tv or recordings? and is 1 higher than a 2 or 2 higher than 1?

You say all recorder/tuners should have the same channels but even if I had all tuners installed on the one server, how would you handle the channel line up from DVB-T as opposed to DVB-S or do you not care about the underlying source, merely what TV Channels have been configured in the TV server?

This poses a problem for me because I have far more channels available on server#2 via the STB than I do on server#1 via DVB-T, hence I can never match them up.

To be absolutely honest I'd have to try that out myself and look in the code before I can answer this ;)

I'm not saying they must have the same lineup, it's just that allocation will work best if they match as closely as possible. The system will work either way, but you may get more conflicts than you expect, that's all. And even with those conflicts you can easily handle them from the management console or the MediaPortal plugin by increasing/decreasing priorities. So it's certainly a workable solution. But with identical lineups you'll have less hassle :)

I'm not surprised, there's so much to 4tr that I feel like I've barely scratched the surface!

Jumping back to my original post, do you know why I sometimes get the error 'recorder/tuner doesn't support this channel'?

    :D again for your help.

This error comes basically directly from TV server I think, perhaps check your TV Server logs and hope that sheds some light on the issue?

Just set it up, and have 3 Questions so far:

1: Any possibility to configure DVB-subtitles? It seems they are working fine, but there is no way to configure them, like what languages and so on. Are they just using the settings that was previosly in the TV Client plugin? Also, Mono-audio channel switching, is this supported? Cause I have a couple of those channels where I get one langauge in the Left speaker and another in the Right, and it's really freaking me out :p It was working in the standard MP plugin.

2: Where can I change the decoder settings? If I go to plugins, I just get the small configuration with the hostname. And if I go to the TVplugin, It looks like this is the OLD tvengine2 that is installed, and I thought it better to not mess with this at all.

3: Is it possible to have different kind of recordings moved to different folders? I'd like to have all my TV-series recorded to one folder, movies to another and everything else just in the standard. Is this possible?

So far these are the only "problems" I've come across, the recording is working great, and the "starts around"-feature is amazing.

You are right about the DVB subtitles setting, it will use the ones previously configured in the TV client plugin. We'll have to add these settings to our own plugin setup form in the next version.

Note sure about the audio though, you can't switch this anymore through the audio menu during playback?

Do you mean the MPEG2 or H264 decoders? They are configure as before: TV playback decoders.

Not yet, but making the recording-folders configurable is something that's already on our list of things to improve in a future version.

    Glad to hear that :)

It's not possible to change the subchannels for e.g. Premiere Direkt Portal
In the original TvPlugin there appears a new entry in the fullscreen contextmenu when there are subchannels found which is not the case in your plugin.
Shouldn't be hard to implement - just check the TvFullscreen.cs file of TvPlugin ;)

OK, I'll have a look. Are subchannels in the same stream (TS) as the main channel? So no re-tuning would be required? Or am I totally mistaken (which can easily be since I've never encountered subchannels :)).

EDIT: had a look at the code, are we talking about linked channels? Actual other channels that are linked to some master channel? layer.GetLinkagesForChannel()?

OK, thanks, it's clear now. Do I understand correctly that TV Server automatically stores the linked channel information when the master channel is tuned? And I guess they are given some automatically calculated name...

Unfortunately, this will take some time to support since we'd need to add support for linked channels to the For The Record API first.
