I've installed it and love it.
Works great.

Only 1 thing for the WAF, is there an easy way to import the recordings made before 4tr was installed?

Hi!
I really like 4therecords!!
but just a few things:
- I can't find a way to activate teletext (i don't need it on TV Homescreen)
- and I can't select linked Channels (linkage Scanner)
is there a way to modify the skinfiles, use the "old" submenue or does anybody have an idea?

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

Would it be possible to modify the black and blue skin to work with this ?? Can I use files intended for Indigo or Monochrome ?

Thanks...

1.) How do i import my old recordings
I'm afraid you can't. But our API is fully documented and there is an ImportRecording() method which could be used to do this, so if someone has the necessary C# skills perhaps he or she could write a small utility for this... We could make this available on our forum so all can benefit!

2.) i'm using DVB-EPG cause i've not found any XML-TV Source for all my Channels or i'm to stupid - who does wake up the TV_Server for doing an EPG scan when i've to disable PowerScheduler?
For The Record uses the standard Windows standby system. So you could register a simple .bat file as a task that needs to run at a certain time at night and ask Windows to wake up to run it (Task Scheduler - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia).

3.) 4TR does also send the TV-Sever to standby?
Standby is fully supported, but it's actually Windows itself which will initiate standby. For The Record will make sure the system is resumed on time.

4.) What kind of scheduling can i do in MP GUI which i cannot do with MP itself?
5.) My most problem with MP is (for example) i want to record all "Dr. House" series on Wednesday but only on Wednesday (time does not matter) - i've not seen how to configure this through MP GUI - i do not want to use an external program like Web GUI todo that.
The daily/weekly/etc.. schedules are much smarter than the ones in MP standard since they allow the program to start at another time. So if you schedule "Dr. House" to be recorded weekly at 21:00 it will also record just fine if it's broadcast at 20:00 or 20:30 or 21:45, etc... Also, provided your guide data offers detailed episode information or detailed descriptions you can select the "New episodes" switch which will automatically skip repeats for you, also something MP standard doesn't do.

Would it be possible to modify the black and blue skin to work with this ?? Can I use files intended for Indigo or Monochrome ?
Supporting For The Record in a skin is not that hard, so ask the skin author if he can help out.

And as I mentioned before, we are more than happy to include any new skins in the next release so they can automatically be installed.

- I can't find a way to activate teletext (i don't need it on TV Homescreen)
Teletext is not supported yet, sorry.

- and I can't select linked Channels (linkage Scanner)
Not sure what linked channels are, but I'm afraid we don't support these yet either.

    Hi,

    Thanks...

The Black and Blue theme uses the exact same XML files as indigo/monochrome - so YES you can use the monochrome files and it should work fine!

    sorry, me again...
Is it possible to use the old TV Plugin for live TV, and change the shortcuts on TV Home for Recordings, Search and TV Guide.
I alredy tried it but on TV Guide, I get ugly Missing Header Info and on Recorded TV, I think the old and the new .xml gets displayed... because old Recordings from server are overlapped with those of 4tr.
    Thanks!

You can't use the old TV plugin, no, sorry.

You could move your old recordings into the Movies folder perhaps? Or perhaps someone has the ambition and skills to write a migration tool to move old recordings into the For The Record system? But so far noone has volunteered... ;)
