You don't need to register this DLL. All other parts of the remote control features work? i.e. MyMusic, Remote COntrol, you can browse your MyVideos & MovingPictures - it's just playing a video file that crashes after two secs?

Ahh ok.

MP working from keyboard and mouse. Not a single crash. Very stable.

Ipimp

Remote control working perfectly (love it on the iphone) and I can press play from the remote and no errors, videos play fine;
My Video works (including list of films and covers in subsiquent screen) until I press "play";
Moving Pictures opens the first screen (from which I can choose which list of films - eg all, year etc), but when I select a list of films MP crashes with a standard MS Error box, and a Fubar on the the Apple;
Music - not tested, will check tonight.
Currently playing - if something is playing, triggers fubar and windows error - correctly reports nothing playing when nothing is playing.

Fubar error responces referenced in previous post.

Video is sporadic with 'my video' - Windows shows up an error within maybe 3 seconds of "play" button push from apple (before, as, or just after playback starts - timing variation is probably drive spinning up to speed), then Ipimp reports fubar a few seconds later.

In short, my video shows a list of films but fubars when play is clicked, moving pictures fubars when asking server for a list of films. Currently playing fubars when selected if anything is playing.

Checked router and opened all ports (and subsiquently closed them again) in case there was an issue - long shot but was worth a look.

All antivirus and firewalls off.

Leave it with me tonight, I want to go right back to the begininging and check I have the right versions of everything. I might try another fresh install of both MP and Ipimp, although I have upgraded from MP 1.0.2.0 to 1.1.0 rec 3 and the latest version of ipimp.

Will then try different ports, but its connecting and passing data so comms should be ok.

I'm also going to check on a different pc and see if I can replicate or solve. The current HTPC was a clean install of xp with service packs a month or so ago so there isnt to much crap on there. I had installed some other controllers like airmouse and vnc's so will remove all of those as well. have tried shutting services off and error remains.

I'm sure you have your hands full with streaming, so I will keep reporting back here and if you spot anything I'm saying that strikes a cord, please jump in!

Cheers for your help.

The only thing I'd say is an upgrade from MP 1.0.2 -> 1.1.0RC3 is unsupported - so a fresh install of MP may be a good idea.

Also what verison of Moving Pictures are you using?

Thanks again Cheezey.

i've uninstalled everything,including various other Iphone controls and remote access programmes.
I've uninstalled MP and all plugins including ipimp.

Got bored of logical approach so tried this...

I thought I would give it a go, so installed MP 1.1.0 RC 4
Installed moving picturees 1.0.4.1070

Check - Everything works but no remote control installed so....

Installed ipimp 4.2.0.484 for MP1.1.0 RC1

All working except ipimp, so now reading about patches. Will update as I go.....

Updated MPClient Control for moving pictures 1.0 RC 2 - just renamed existing dll to old and dragged in. i've not tried to register the dll as noted above.

Fubar errors on ipimp, but no crashes on MP - nothing working on ipimp

Try this, copy the following files from C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server to C:\Program Files\iPiMP\Aspx\bin

DirectShowLib.dll
TvBusinessLayer.dll
TvControl.dll
TVDatabase.dll
TvLibrary.Interfaces.dll

Then restart the iPiMPWeb service.

right copied above but not from the path you identified as mediaportal TV Server did not exist - found them all in c:\windows\microsoft.net\framework....(lots of number and folders) all installed today - must be last MP install

Copied accross and MP and Moving Pictures working from keyboard but not iphone. restarted service and no control at all (same as all evening after fresh intallations

I'm checking compatibility of all of the three parts on the message boards for reported problems.

Please dont waste your time thinking about me (but is kind), I'm just trying to keep a log of what I have done. it will be something silly ive not looked at!

Tried reboot.

Reverted back to old dll as MP wouldn't start with with new one.

Didn't register moved dll's

trying again with MPClientController 4.2.0.477

Right, after i've picked the bits of this computer up from the patio, I'm going to make a cup of tea, have a kitkat put a DVD in the DVD player, then try a nice fresh install of the following:and

MP 1.1.0 RC2, (or even RC1)
Moving Pictures - Latest version
and IPimp with the latest MPClientcontroller

Hi Cheezey,

Just a quick question. Everything has been reinstalled a number of times with different versions and the problem remains.

On all installs the web server has remebered my password, so it would appear that apache is not getting uninstalled, or a reg key is remaining. A quick line on this thought would be great please. If you think this might be the case, any easy uninstall directions for appache, or do you think its because one of the other services may be "holding onto" it and not letting it be uninstalled?

I had installed airmouse, a remote access and a remote video app with servers on the pc. all are closed at present and as far as I can see the server sides are shut.

I was going to do a fresh reinstallation of windows tonight if all else fails.

Cheer and thanks once again.

Apache is installed into the C:\Program Files\iPiMP folder so after an iPiMP uninstall just ensure that folder is no longer there.

When you say "the web server has remebered my password", I assume you mean the password is already populated in the password field, or you are automatically logged in - in either case it's your client that's remembering, if you select the "Remember Me" option on the logon page it stores a cookie on your iPhone which is used to track your logon state. This cookie will persist when you uninstall iPiMP, and if you reinstall iPiMP onto the same IP etc it'll be used when you next try to access it.
