anyone of you has installed vobsub?
does it occur with all videos? dvr-ms, mpg, avi?

For the users who have black screens in MyTV:
anyone of you has installed vobsub?
does that also occur if Timeshift is disabled?

Sorry! Here is the info.

I don't have vobsub installed, the problem occurs with all video related plugins (MyTV. MyVideo and MyDVD) and with all filetypes.

The OSD do work, which makes it possible to switch aspect ratio.

Switching codecs makes no difference either.

The logfiles are from a quick run: start MP, MyVideo, play an divX avi wit AR original (pic), switching to AR normal (no pic), back to main menu and shutting down MP. There is only mediaportal.log and vrm9.log but no error.log

Disabling "using exclusive DirectX mode" in the general setup also fixes the problem.

This was just a very simple test. Start MediaPortal, open my videos, (and wait a few hours while I had dinner), then open the actual video, leave it playing for a few mins, stop the vid, close MP.

yeah, i've tried four different codecs, and none are successful in playing vids full-screen.

It's be great if "Okay" came back to us with his much worked-on fix.

If you have set your fonts to large: I've fixed this for a firend (and so could probably you if you searched the forums Twisted Evil Smile
1. Set the font size in XP to normal
1b. Set PPT to normal (perhaps not necessary)
2. Uninstall MP
3. Delete MP folder (won't work with only re-inst.)
4. Install MP and patch
5. FIXED!

1b is (probably) not necessary - 3. probably is, but you can try skipping this.....

Thanks Okay, but that's not really a fix, and it's not really an acceptable workaround either, IMHO.

The only reason why that worked for you is because you didn't set your windows font sizes back to large after you'd finished... in fact, the uninstall-reinstall probably was unnessecary (see my first post in this topic).

The uninstall/reinstall AND deleting MP folder was necessary for us to get it to work (tried just changing font-size first - no good).

Wheater this is a fix or not; it fixes the "streched"/full screen-view. It is not a bug fix, I know, but its a workaround that is possible to live with.

There is no problem with MCE and large fonts, so hopefully it will get sorted out.

PS, Just re-reading this post and it sounds really narky! Sorry about that, it's not intended to be, I must just be tired! Laughing

Yeah, I can get mine working as well by leaving them as normal, but it breaks as soon as soon as I set the fonts to anything but normal.

My fontsize has been set to normal all the time and I have got the same problem with black TV screen. It worked for a while and then became black again. Seems to come at random as I did not change any settings.
