Installed and seems to be working very well, to early to perform some serious testing, anyway I can't see the Technotrend S2-3200 card going back in the box.

Hi pmcguire,
please let me know how it works, as I'd like very much to buy it, but before I WANT to know MediaPortal is fully working with it :D

Hi,

After using a Technotrend S2-3200 for the last year I feel I have finally been set free.
This is a picture of me with the TT card

Now I am finally rid of it I might actually start to enjoy my mediacentre, it works about 1000% better.
Channel changes are more or less instant, I no longer get hanging on certain channels and wake up from standby is much much more reliable.

Go for it!!

Yes I am using a CI with a conax CAM.
I don't have any problems with this, only problem is with my HD channel, that has been a constant PIA and I am not sure if it is working at all now anyway.

My mediacentre has never been more stable.

Hi,

I would use the card for HD channels but my provider (Canal Digital Finland) are backwards, they won't activate the HD channels for me unless I buy their own digibox (some sandan rubbish) then they want to lock my card and box together.

So unfortunately I can't test the S2 functionality until they get their heads out of their a****s and let me give them money.

Anyhow I noticed in the other thread you were thinking about the Technotrend card, FORGET THE TT CARD RIGHT NOW!!!!!!

Unless of course you like to infuriate yourself or your family, like extra stress, can handle rebooting at least 4 times a day, and enjoy the excitement of wondering wether your recordings worked or not.

Oh and also most of the time shutdown or suspend fails because of some driver failure, since removing the TT card my standby / shutdown record has been 100%

It's just not worth it.

I have a TT S-3200 and had nothing but troubles with it. Got a Floppy DTV DVB-S2 yesterday. Channel switching is down from 6-9s to <=2s (DVBViewer) and probably 1+ s more in MediaPortal. Though that still varies quite a bit. Some switches can be almost instant. Need to have a close look at the logs to see what happens there.

Seems to be a lot more stable (TV-Engine) though i've had some serious problems with MP which crasches after a few minutes of usage.

Bottomline is, wouldn't buy the TT card if my life dependend on it.. CRAP..

Does anyone of you know if the FloppyDTV DVB-S2 has disecq 1.x in MP?
I am in Holland (Canal Digitaal) and the just switched some of the channels to Astra 3 (all HDTV channels are on this sat also).
This means I have to use a Canal Digital Duo LNB (1 LNB, with two heads recieving Astra 1 and Astra 3). This LNB has a disecq-switch inside which has to be controlled from within MP/FloppyDTV.

You just shouted the TT-card out of my head, pmcguire! Thanks you released me from it! ;)

    Hi,

does anybody has experiences with the FloppyDTV-S2 and standby or hibernate?
I would be very interested, if it works 100% after resuming form hibernate, especially if the pay TV channels are still working. This is my biggest issue with the TT S2-3200 card. If this would work reliably with the FloppyDTV, I will sell the piece of crab immediately and buy a FloppyDTV.

    Thanks in advance.

Fixed, I think. Certainly the vintage MP2 installer that I was using no longer installs the LAV filters. I can only assume that these were never part of the install package itself, but rather downloaded during the install, and that link no longer exists. Shame that the installer doesn't indicate this. Last time when I installed the...

Brief update... Hauppauge support responded quickly, stating that the "driver for all of our product confirm to the BDA format". Not sure what that means, but to test that, I downloaded a copy of Capture4Me, and indeed, it switches LNBs without any issues with minimal configuration (just set DiSEqC to 1.x A/B/C/D and select the...

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ? MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback. If you you don't have multichannel music you can choose WASAPI as the output and set the number of speakers to stereo. I have...

Thanks guys. Ok, spent the (whole) weekend on this lol. First; TVHeadend/Kodi.... Nah. Given up on that - 'non-tech'; its horrible. 'Tech' - a few reasons but mostly that it is buggy. It is actually a real shame as it does have potential and promises a lot (was great to have Kodi on my phone and be able to watch live/recordings...
