Ppl seem to enjoy the Nvidia PureVideo codecs, so I'd consider nVidia, if I were you.

However; ATi vs nVidia - you'll never get an answer... you'll get to many to sort out  - the ppl are divided here, I'm afraid.

Dont go for the 5500, however, as only the 6XXX and 7XXX series have support for PureVideo (I think).

The 6200 is a god budet choice, however I'd go for a 6600LE (or non-LE if you can afford it - see above link). These are probably in you budget as well

I currently have two Quatros running, one connect, one duo using OTA antennae, mostly UHF fringe area, mostly cat5 local network. Hauppauge card retired long ago. I have also retired very early SD units, the Quatros seem to work much better than the older units. Go to SD's support website and download and install the windows...

Yes, I saw that. Was beyond my understanding, however. Didn't see how to set that up. I'm a relative neophyte, who's done hardly any command-line coding. To be more specific: I don't see, under either "Grabbing Listings" or in the "First use example," where it is designated just where on one's C drive the tv.xml file is...
