Did this patch make it into RC3? I'm having issues scanning channels as well with a built-in diseqc switch in my LNB's. Has anyone been able to successfully get their scan's to work with this patch?

Hi guys,

to all who have problems with switching the channels: In another forum I found this:

Obviously there is an undocumented setting for the Hauppauge - at least for the Nova-S-(plus) - to adjust the switching voltage. For me id did help; now I adjusted it to 5, and its much better (not yet perfect, but much better). Even on scanning I get channels now where the transponders before had "no signal".

Maybe this helps other people too. The actual necessary adjustment, I think, depends on the switch, so the optimum may be different with different systems.

To make it easier for people who still do not have any adjustment in the registry, I attach my registriy setting.

Good luck!

Alfred

I've a similar issue where on the Astra (28.2") all I find is about 80 channels, the bbc/itv regions. I will try this patch tonight and let you know how I get on. My lnb hasnt a built in diseqc switch though.

I tried it and it looks like it fixed my problem scanning with my diseqc... Thanks a lot!
Hi Icebreakr, as I am curious: which one did fix which problem? I specially ask as you did not fill your system specs, so I do not know which version you are using; and according to the previous posts the Hauppuge fix should be included in RC3 already.
Thanks Alfred

The registry key that you posted. It works very well... I'm not using RC3, I had problems with it so went back to RC2 with SVN (I don't remember which one, I'm at work right now...)

But I used 5 as the value just like you and it did the trick!

Happens on multi LNB users. DiseqC switching seems broken.
´
Hi,
just to make clear ( I do not tell it is not true what you are saying ;) ):

I do not have any DiseqC switch! The settings above in the registry - according to what I know - do affect the switching from Horizontal to Vertical. So it should be independent of any DiseqC issue.

Hi, I tried the new tvserver.dll files but the tv service failed to start afterwards, Using the lastest RC3 build. Didnt get a chance to try the reg fix.

Hi saibot,
I think you made the same mistake as I did in the beginning. Look at Gregors answer (and my question just before) earlier in this thread
The TVLibrary.dll files are built for Version 1 . RC2, and the revision shown in the file name
This means:
  • You cannot use any TVLibrary.dll, as it has to match the SVN-Version
  • For RC3, no patch does exist, as it is built in already
So, use again the original dll, and just try the registry values.
Good luck!
Alfred
