For the HDMI input, if you add the s-video channels, one of them will be the HDMI input.

Hah! The one button that didn't seem like something I should click. That seems to have done the trick and now I can see my HDMI input. This does seem like a rather odd thing to need to do though. Did I miss that buried somewhere here in this thread?

Let me try and clear up the confusion.

Awesome! Thanks for clearing all that up. Using deskwizard's suggestion seems to have gotten me the input I needed. Also I totally left out the fact that I wasn't looking for a real channel list. I'm actually recording from another "demo" computer and so all I needed was to capture the HDMI input.

I was getting "HDPVR: timed out waiting for PMT" error all the time. Once I bumped my PMT timeout to 20, I am getting the video signal. As suggested by mm in that thread, the time it takes to activate/switch a channel is not normal.
Does anyone have any idea why I am getting such high latency ?

Also, for some reason, I am getting audio in the wrong input - that is I am connected via RCA red/white entry, but the audio is passing only in Aux#1 and not in LineIn#1. Is it related ?

Here are details on my setup:
- Clean Windows7 installation
- MediaPortal 1.22
- HDPVR with the latest Hauppauge drivers
- Using Composite ( yellow RCA ) to connect to the STB.
- CaptureModule.exe seems to work OK.
- The WinTV's blaster config app seems to be configured OK and it is working.
- I am not using the IR server, but rather the built-in MediaPortal IR blaster plugin set to the Hauppauge blaster.

My plan is to use mostly the recording feature and less the liveTV feature, so I could live with the long latency. But if I could fix this issue, I would probably use it more.

Should I use the IR server instead?

It would be great if someone with similar setup and faster channel activation/switch response time, could provide some info and upload the logs. I could start with the log comparison.
Any lead would be much appreciated.

Hi Folks

I'm a very recent MP user coming over from SageTV.
I've been reading thru the forums trying to learn before posting.. but so far haven't found this topic discussed.

In Sage I had two HD-PVR's connected to two STBs.

Each STB has it's own Remote Infra-Red signals/codes.

Channel control was using a USB-UIRT. Since each STB has different IR codes.. the USB-UIRT can control the channels for both STB's (one of the few good things about Starchoice/Shaw Direct STBs)

So my question is ... Can Media portal handle two HD-PVR's like this using the USB-UIRT?
Anyone doing it ?

Theoretically that should be possible. I think dpmcrae from this thread is trying to do it but is having some trouble which we're trying to figure out. At this point I haven't got enough information to be sure whether it is a MediaPortal, IRSS or driver issue.

I guys ! I had an intermittant micro glitch maybe every 5 second using colossus 29291 driver. I just want to let you know that hauppauge
fix the problem in the new 29361 BETA driver.

Now my STB is playing perfectly smooth without any micro glitch anymore. On screen details shows constant flat line now.

Kilik...i just upgraded to 29291 a few days ago and i've been having a glitch too. Unfortunately I moved from HDMI to Component at the same time so I wasn't sure what caused it.

My "glitch" is when there is a lot of motion i get what looks like a skipped frame. My source is a Dish Network satellite receiver.

Does this sounds similar to your glitch?

If some one would be so kind as to help me out a bit I have read what seems like a millon post and how to guides but I still can't get this to work. I can get video but no audio my specs are as follows.
AMD 64 x2 cpu
4gig ddr3
2xsegate 1tb hdd
2xsegate 2tb hdd
nvidia gt 520 1gig ram
HD-PVR
rogers 4250hd stb
I would like to use firewire to change channels but its not a deal breacker. I would how ever like to have 5.1 audio

Try the driver 29361 here in BETA SECTION Support for Colossus

With 29291 driver, i had skip frame every 5-6 sec. But with the new 29361 BETA driver i don't experienced this skip frame anymore.
But now i experience some glitch from time to time. Maybe 1 every 10 min, i don't really know why it happens. And it's not MP related because it happens in Arcsoft Showbiz too. In conclusion, I can say that 29361 BETA driver with MP 1.2.2 gave me the best TV experience since September 2010.
