Hi There,

it's my first post and I have the same problem like DJMarcel. Please keep this thread going on to find a solution for this problem. It seems a lot of people are complaining about this problem but nobody has found a solution yet.

I'm using Windows MCE and Hauppauge PVR 500 MCE Kit.

Thx for help

I, too am having the same issue.

Hauppage 150 MCE kit, the remote has 'RC6' on the back of it, and only certain keys (as mentioned in the first post) work in MP.

    Hi,
I too have a RC6 & it works out of the box with MP & it installed automatic when added to htpc. Just enabled it in Configuration -> Remote & MCE.

ronaldus, try with a clean install of MP & latest SVN & then run configuration to setup MP. Just rename MediaPortal folder & run repair option on uninstall program for a test, then after the test rename it back to MediaPortal & all your old settings are back.

    Regards

I reinstalled mp as you suggested (incl latest svn), but no difference. My remote is still not working. Did you saw anything weird in my mediaportal.log file?

    Hi,
Not really, this has to be something with that you're not using windows built in drivers for the remote. If you enable it & + logging, start MP & try to use it & then attach your MP.log

Actually, they are built-in drivers after installing "Update Rollup 2 for eHome Infrared Receiver for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 (KB912024)" from Microsoft (as suggested earlier in this thread). This makes me think that maybe support for a new version of the eHome receiver has been added to Windows XP MCE recently (where recent is a relative term, as the update has been released over a year ago), which is then not yet supported in Mediaportal...

Not that i can find on the MS website.

Plus the fact if you just downloaded brocklanders zipped file of the drivers, would be the original.

Bought a philips made version of the MCE remote 2 months ago, and that installed fine, so i am baffled why mediaportal does not recognise full functionality.

What are your keyboard settings, does it make a difference if you change them and reboot.

More info on my install, in case it helps:

Fresh copy of XP Pro (SP2).
Loaded drivers for my integrated sound and NIC from the CD that came with my MB. (MB is an ASUS M2NBP-VM CSM)
Loaded video drivers for my video card. (Gigabyte GeForce 7100 GS)
Plugged the [Ehome] IR receiver into the USB port. New Hardware found, XP could not find the Drivers. I did a little research, and downloaded/installed "Hotfix for Windows (KB912024)". Ehome IR receiver recognized and installed.
Downloaded MP. Installed. CHecked the box in setup to use the MCE Remote.

In Device Manager, under "human interface devices", there is a 'Microsoft eHome Infrared transiever'. Under 'keyboards', I see "microsoft ehome mcir 109 keyboard", "microsoft ehome mcir keyboard", and "microsoft ehome remote control keyboard keys". All hardware is installed and working, no conflicts.

Here is a copy of my Mediaportal.log file:
    http://pastebin.team-mediaportal.com/12283

    If it matters:
I started MP, used the arrow keys to get to 'My Videos', Hit 'Okay'.
I arrowed down to a listed movie, and hit 'Enter'. it asked if I wanted to resume, and I hit 'Enter' for yes.
I hit 'pause', 'stop', 'forward', 'skip', 'rewind', 'replay', none of which worked.
I hit 'clear', wound up back at the 'my movies' menu with a small copy of the movie playing inthe lower left, at which point, I closed the program.

    Hi,
    Ok maybe id has changed,
Can you try to find & post the id for "eHome infrared receiver" in Comp management, ehome infrared receiver -> Properties -> Details -> Computer ID (or whatever it is called in your language (I'm using Norwegian :p ) & post it back here?

    (something like this: USB\vid_0609&pid_031d)

    Regards
