Anyone having issues with scanning for HD Channels with FireDTV (Bluedumps mid-scan) here is the fix:

Download the transedit program (found on the net, demo version is enough)
Go in under settings/hardware
UNCHECK the "open whole transponder" for both cards.

Voila.

as far as i know all you have to do to get it working is to use the latest available TV-Server build and update the floppy/firedtv with the latest FIRMWARE. :)

    Hi Lindhardsen,

The changes have been done yesterday. ;) ( After holidays and before work.. )
It will be in next SVN build.

Remember : You must update FireDTV firmware with the new 1.5.0 from july.

    Ambass.

I am running the latest SVN and have FW 1.5.0 loaded on my Floppy S2.

However, when tuning to a (S2) channel I see the following in tv.log:
    2008-08-26 17:06:21.536125 [10]: FireDTV: HW Filtering disabled.

Does this mean that HW PID filtering isn't working?

It's only enabled for specific channels / tuning details which would not work without.
If it would be enabled in general, you might encounter issues with multitune.

    OK, thanks for the clarification

I assumed that HW filtering would be better as it would reduce the data flow. But if you think about it further that would indeed break multituning on the same transponder.

    Lol

I re-installed latest SVN (clean copy) just to find that my dreaded blue-dump while scanning S2 transponders is back.
no matter what I do now it crashes as soon as it finds a transponder which actually has some channels.

Latest firmware is installed in the FireDTV.

I guess its time for another 40 reboots & sacrifice a chicken before it works.

Dont know if I gonna cry or laugh.

EDIT: Managed to get it to crash from TransEdit Too, so Its surely hardware releated, I guess the chickens will be in a bad spot around here. Might try a new copy of Vista first.

After 6.5 hours of installing the TVServer (new Vista, new harddrive), it seems to work better, could scan now for a while without crashing :D, not done yet, so I might say hurray to early, but I have never gone this far before, and it even found HD channels.

After trying a number of the Thor .ini files from the first few pages of this thread, I am still not able to get, for example, "TV4 HD" to be found by a channel scan. I am using a CONAX CAM in my FloppyDTV-S2 with the "DTV-S2" option enabled in the TV Server Config tool. My subscription card is for the Swedish Canal Digital with a "familjepaket" subscription, which according to their website should now also contain TV4 HD. Strangely enough "SVT HD" is found and works, although it has the usual SVT logo, so I am not sure whether it really is the HD channel.

I have also read somewhere that not all subscription cards / CAMs work for HD channels with the Swedish Canal Digital. So I am hoping that one of the knowledgeable people out here can enlighten me...

    Thanks!

We have the same setup, but things are working for me! ;)

First of all, I recommend you to upgrade to latest SVN. According to your system spec, you are running RC2. In later SVN's, issues have been resolved regarding S2 channels. Also SVN contains more update transponder files.

You can test with my files if you want. They are attached here.

SVT HD only has the HD logo, when displaying real HD material, so do not get worried over seeing the "normal" SVT logo.
